No, YOU spent too long yesterday turning a paragraph from De Bello Gallico into a comic.
I never realized you were joking when you said that, I assumed sincerity
Aubrey I am also in Minneapolis to see my good friend marry his almost husband, say hi!!

Watching so many in the U.S. choose to obey in advance, one wonders if we’re now (in part) reaping the rotten fruit of “first time obedience.”

Yes and amen. It’s not easy to raise children this way but it’s best for them, for society, and ultimately for us too. All flourishing is mutual, y’all (HT: Robin Wall Kimmerer). Thank you for this, @rlstollar.bsky.social.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black…said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call...”

“But when Black began to lower his arms…the agents responded…by firing pepper balls... One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke...”

The reason that you didn't see autism "back in your day" is because the way you used to deal with girl autism was to send them to a convent where they all pretended to be cats
For Magistra Frizzle purposes, I would like a poodle skirt but instead of a poodle it’s one of these dogs.
What will make you believe me?
Yessss and/or nooooo depending on the aspect and day

What if my answer is “it depends”

Friends, what our federal government is doing in the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs is wicked, an offense against God. The stories of ICE's brutality here are being reported widely enough that you can find the proof if you want to. 1/4
I’ve never seen a Simpson. It wasn’t allowed when I was a kid, and I never bothered to catch up as an adult.
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.
They mention @ehmcgowin.bsky.social’s book, Households of Faith, which is an excellent read.
This conversation was so good!
Here at CoTS we love data driven analysis of Christianity subcultures. In the last podcast episode, I talked with @mburtwrites.bsky.social about her new book "The Myth of Good Christian Parenting" and how Christian parenting books relate to autism (spoiler: it is bad). Link below:

20+ Chicago cops injured from the feds tossing tear gas around today.
CPD has 20+ injured on duty this afternoon, most/all from federal use of gas. Related: no arrests by CPD, no documented uses of force by CPD. (I wasn't everywhere / didn't see every skirmish. And possibly some late-entry TRR forms to come.) Saw two federal arrests, saw one on video didn't witness.
Chaos in Brighton Park. This is representative of the amount / direction of pepper and smoke sent into the neighborhood, in this case, for no reason I can discern other than because they were leaving. Feds had a clear path out in a different direction, and residents were vocal but not violent here.
For my kids, the perceived loss of autonomy is much more distressing than the poke or soreness, so the rest of the day is about mitigating that by letting them be in charge of more things than normal.
I recommend a policy of “Whoever Gets the Shots Calls the Shots” for kids getting seasonal vaccines.

What are we eating, where are we going, what are we playing or watching or reading for the rest of the day after a vaccine? Whatever the bandaid-ed one wants.

Hi! Are you distinguishing (wrongly) between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament? You might be (you definitely are) committing a heresy called Marcionism.
A lot of evangelicals seem to be more attracted to the vengeful God of the Old Testament than the forgiving God of the New.
