I added a third circle because I'm such an overachiever :3 (that and cooler slander is my passion)

Venn diagram of splatoon 3 special weapons sorted by my opinion of how good they are, fun to use they are and how healthy for the game they are. In the "Good" circle are Tenta Missiles, Tacticooler, Ink Vac, Reefslider and Triple Inkstrike. On the edge of the "Fun" circle is Kraken. In the "Healthy" circle are Ink Storm and Wave Breaker. In the overlap between "Good" and "Fun" are Triple Splashdown and Trizooka (these are more of the border of the "Fun" circle tbh). In the "Good" circle on the border of the "Healthy" circle is Big Bubbler. In the overlap between "Fun" and "Healthy" are Inkjet and Super Chumps. In the overlap between all three circles are Crab Tank, Booyah Bomb, Zipcaster and Ultra Stamp. Outside of every circle is Killer Wail 5.1. Screen is in the abyss, where it belongs

A venn diagram of Splatoon 3 specials being placed on how good they are and how fun they are to play. In the just good section, there is: Zipcaster, Booyah Bomb and Tacticooler. In the just fun section, there is: Kraken Royale, Ink Jet, Ultra Stamp and Super Chump. In the good and fun section, there is: Trizooka, Crab Tank, Triple Inkstrike and Ink Vac. Big Bubbler and Reefslider are on the edge of the good and fun section as Ariikitty is undecided fully on these two specials. Outside the diagram, there is: Tenta Missiles, Ink Storm, Wave Breaker, Killer Wail 5.1, Splattercolor Screen and Triple Splashdown as they are neither good or fun in Ariikitty's opinion

Here in X Rank Civilization, no one chooses to jump for the ttek region. It’s better to be safe and do the one block jump for the takaroka, rather than risk your entire queue time for just 1 game tick less lag.

struggling to find words to describe this. like holy shit vibes was awesome, genuinely just the best day of my life I think. I'm so proud of us for nabbing 2nd we did so frickin good my team is amazing. shoutout to my goats Sal, Afro, and Rafa, y'all played out of your minds we're so fuckin good!!
the support we had from so many people was unbelievable it made every moment even more special: the cheering, the hugs, the congratulating, just everything, genuinely thank you so much to everyone who supported us. I wanna give a big shoutout to all of lessthanthree as well, they are just the loveliest people it was so good to finally meet them and their support was extra special to me, and I'm so proud of how they played at their first lan!
thank you again so much to everyone who made this happen, and also to everyone who attended because the atmosphere was incredible, I just wish I could have spoken to more people. I'm so happy rn I can't wait to do this again :D <3

"If we are ever going to stop this, then you guys need to start learning why this happens.
And it's not always because some executive made a decision to favor a TERF. It's because the technology is broken in a way TERFs have learned to use to their advantage.
So content moderation is a HUGE task. It is incredibly inefficient to manually monitor all user reports-- when you "flag" something as spam or inappropriate or 'inciting harm' (what Blueskye is saying the banned users had in their posts). So what actually happens is that the bulk of it is reviewed by machine. The precise "how" is a bit of a black box (if you say exactly, it makes it more vulnerable to being bypasses), but we generally know it's a bit of machine learning ("ai", but not he chatgpt kind) and a bit of automation. Generically this gets referred to as an "algorithm" (which is a meaningless word I don't have time to unpack here).
The TERFs have a formula. A battle plan, if you will. I've been watching them use it for almost a decade. And they play social media sites like a fiddle every single time."

"The way it works is that they coordinate attacks on targets they dislike. (Usually trans people, but ace discourse is a notable example of targets not necessarily fitting that demographic.) They send links to each other of posts to report. They'll flag it for whatever the nearest thing they can is. The blueskye users were wishing ill to JK Rowling, so "inciting harm" was the excuse selected. "Inappropriate or sexually explicit content" is a common selection for other trans content.
Then what happens is the content moderation "algorithm" sees a huge influx of reports for a certain post or user. And instead of making a human manually review all of that, it automatically initiates a ban or takedown. And if the "algorithm" has word censorship built in, it will begin to auto-flag for things containing words in posts frequently flagged, so it begins to auto-flag the word trans itself.
This has been happening for almost a decade. There was a trans youtuber who proved TERF hater group chats flagged his videos so much that it started auto-demonitizing identical videos with the word trans in the title, but leaving ones without the word alone. I strongly suspect this is why we see huge amounts of trans women banned for no reason on tumblr. And this is clearly what is happening now."

"How do we fix it? There's no easy solution. All the things about the "algorithm" that make moderation easier for the social media platforms are the exact reasons it's so difficult to defeat. It's hard to teach a machine what's a genuine flag and a malicious one. Again, it's been almost a decade since the issue was raised with youtube, and there has yet to be a solution for rooting out malicious coordinated flagging.
But here's one thing that can help: get TERFs off of social media. Stop letting them bait you into petty fights. Learn how to identify them. Block and report them. "

"Blocking TERFs and other assorted bigots is especially effective on bsky, because the block function there is nuclear. In short, if you block someone, not only can they not view your account or any of your posts, but any replies they made on your posts will no longer be viewable by others, even if they haven't personally blocked that user themselves. If they quote you, you can even decouple your post from their quote. In short, blocking someone on bsky produces mutual hiding of content, and it's extremely effective at starving these cunts of oxygen. Bigots who can't convince people to fight with them and whose posts don't gain any traction because they're blocked by everyone and their dog leave the platform, i.e. Jesse Singal.
It works, people just need to remember to do it more. Preemptive blocking of dickheads before they start shit with you is the best way to prevent things like this from happening. "

My thoughts on Splat Safety and recent community discussion

I understand that this discussion is extremely emotional for many. However, I hope we can all find common ground in that something like Splat Safety should exist. Without something like it, TOs and organizers (like me) could not do the work they want to do and would likely quit (and we're already seeing a lot of organizers expressing that they are no longer motivated). More importantly, victims would have to make their case to many different orgs to get perpetrators out of the community, and I don't think any org would be equipped to adequately investigate a situation like Splat Safety does. Without something like Splat Safety, the community becomes a much more hostile environment towards victims.

I trust Splat Safety, and its volunteers have my utmost respect. They voluntarily and repeatedly investigate the darkest sides of our community to keep it safe, without any pay, without anyone saying thank you, with many community members spreading hate against their work. I cannot stress enough how emotionally difficult that must be. I imagine the only thing that keeps them going are altruistic beliefs in a better and safer community.

I hope that some can watch their video and see the same maturity and responsibility for a safer community that I did, but I also understand that some will not. Trust takes time to build, and is almost impossible to keep up for a small volunteer org like Splat Safety, when the cases they regularly deal with too often contain extremely dividing sides. I hope you can at least see that Splat Safety and its volunteers have good intention.

I understand and encourage voicing criticism you have of Splat Safety. I would ask you, however, to not spread hate or misinformation. Sending emotional, short, and not-fact-checked messages is far easier and faster than trying to investigate and find the truth. Please take the time to carefully review the public information we have before sharing your opinion. Please realize that in many cases, you will not and should not have access to every part of a case. Spreading hate and hurtful messages doesn't help anyone, let's talk about this in a constructive way.

To quote Dr. Piggy, "Twitter justice doesn't work." Bluesky justice doesn't work. For everyone's safety and well-being, we need an organization like Splat Safety. I hope that at least this is something we can agree on.

Volunteering your own time with the risk of being harassed and/or discriminated against is mind boggling to me. I don’t know how they do it but when they do leave, as we have seen many great people leave, I understand why.

I want to clarify that the “bet” was never meant to be a serious suggestion or a decision, and any claims suggesting otherwise are simply incorrect. I’ve already spoken with Sencon in DMs and cleared this up. Madness had already decided on his own to try returning to streaming, and my actions had no influence on that decision.

That said, the “bet” did happen, and I fully understand why people are upset. For context, it came out of casual banter where he said, “Watch, I’ll be able to beat you soon,” and I responded, “If you somehow even make it out of groups in that tournament, I’ll give you $100.” I said this under the assumption that he wouldn’t even be able to qualify, but regardless it was a poor choice to even make a bet like that. Considering the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it, and I take full responsibility. It won’t happen again.

The intent behind the comment while expressed poorly was that I wanted to see more genuine effort put toward change from him, like consistently streaming and showing that some growth has happened. That doesn’t excuse what I said, but I hope it gives some context on what I was thinking in that current moment.

I’ll be more considerable with my words while talking to others since I fully understand that they can be at times misleading and give off the wrong impression. I understand what it means to earn back the communitys trust and I do not take that for granted at all. Thank you for taking your time to read and I apologize for any confusion it caused.
