Nigel Farage’s Russian influence advent calendar.
It’s funny coz it’s true. Also deeply depressing that he’s not being asked more questions about all this

I think the main thing Labour needs to do is drop the Blue Labour stupidity and stop competing with Reform to show how hard they are on immigrants.

Focus on the the manifesto. Challenge on corruption sure, but policy and economics will mean more to most people, and definitely to Labour voters.

FML - this fawning before the over-sensitive king is embarrassing for the world.

Many countries have fought revolutions (and in the UK a civil war) against monarchs & tyrants in order to get away from this ridiculous kind of self-abasement before egos of foolish leaders.

It’s really simple…

- Cap all political donations
- Ban foreign donations
- Strict conflict‑of‑interest & anti‑corruption laws with penalties
- No titles, honours or peerages for donors
- No govt contracts for donors
- Publish every donation/lobby meeting

…that’ll do it.

The podcast is honestly the best I’ve ever listened to. It is like a ten part spy thriller; only not fiction, but real life, with British voters the victims, and too many British politicians choosing to turn a blind eye. Each episode is better than the last, devastating in conclusions. MUST HEAR.
I only recently listened to this extraordinary 10 part podcast - Sergei and the Westminster Spy Ring by @peterjukes.bsky.social and @carolecadwalla.bsky.social . It’s gripping, chilling, and deeply disturbing. The facts of Russian intrusion into UK politics laid bare, in horrifying fashion.
Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell @alastaircampbell2.bsky.social spell out what needs to happen - the same demand we’ve made for years.

We need a real, independent inquiry 🧵
