Oh poor cat and even poorer you! I hope your cat-lifting powers are restored very soon, xx

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚
It was great to work with you Liz - that book NEEDS to be published!
Can't wait, Chris - really exicited to see The Hunters Club released into the wild!
Having a lovely time at Ty Newydd, Literature Wales's writing centre in Llanystumdwy, Gwynedd. Lovely tutees, lovely fellow tutor @vaseemkhanuk.bsky.social & beautiful surroundings. This is the path down to the most important part of the whole centre - the kitchen and hall where everything happens!
You've got this - this is your chance to make the book truly sparkle!
Noooo! Editing's the best bit! (Though not copy editing. Or proof editing. They suck.) Best of luck with it, Charlotte, x
Great time in Bath @mrbsemporium.bsky.social yesterday when I dropped in with a proof of The Hunters Club and was asked to contribute to their display of authors' pens hanging from the ceiling. If you're in Bath, do pay Mr B's a visit - the booksellers are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!
Thanks, Simon - I'm so glad you enjoyed Non and Basil's first investigation!

In-between the review books, I've been reading @alishawkinsauthor.bsky.social first Oxford mystery.
A most intriguing story with fascinating characters that kept me guessing until the end.
I've really enjoyed it and now must get my skates on as book three comes out in October! 📚

Had a great time at Criminally Good Books in York when I popped in recently to drop in a proof copy of The Hunters Club - many thanks to Cat and Isla for such a warm welcome!
Can I interest you in my new book? You have my others... Lovely visit to Waterstones in Newcastle to drop off a proof copy of The Hunters Club. Thanks to all the staff for being ultra friendly 😘
Had a lovely time in Alnwick on Monday visiting @forumbookscorbridge's sister shop, The Accidental Bookshop - such a lovely shop with a great backstory. (You'll have to visit and ask...)
And while I was there, it would have been rude not to offer Helen a proof copy of The Hunters Club, wouldn't it?
I had a great time talking to the lovely Robert Kirkwood for the the audiobook show Read On. We talked about about writing, my visually impaired protagonist in the Teifi Valley Coroner books, the Skeleton Army vs. the Salvation Army in 1882 Oxford, my writing method, and three very important books.

But possibly longer than via Lampeter which is the way we go (our trip is Forest of Dean - Abergavenny - Brecon - Llandovery - Lampter - Castell Newydd Emlyn. Any chance I might see you at Aberaeron book festival? xx
Every time I drive home I pass the sign to Talley - now I'll have to follow it and see!
I think my cat has been talking to your cats ..
Exciting news! The Hunters Club has been chosen by Waterstones as one of their summer offers! You can now get 25% off the cover price if you preorder before the end of July.

I'd be really grateful for any pre-orders - they make all the difference to authors!

At a recent event with my Crime Cymru pal and fellow historical crime author @chrislloydauthor.bsky.social we were asked whether it's ok to get in touch with a writer to tell them you've enjoyed their book or whether it's a pain because then you have to reply.
Easy answer PLEASE BE IN TOUCH!!
Welcome to the mad world of novel writing, Geoff!
Very much looking forward to chatting to my friend and fellow historical crime writer @chrislloydauthor.bsky.social on Friday in Cowbridge 😃
Second event is on Friday 27 June, when I'll be chatting with my Crime Cymru friend @alishawkinsauthor.bsky.social at Cowbridge Library at 2.30pm, looking at historical crime fiction.
It's a free event; you just need to call the library on 01446 773941 to book.
