Good point, thanks.
I have amended my review to include the following months too.

Yes goes through to the May and then Saul's Epilogue turns briefly to Sicily.
I've been gradually reducing my book reviewing commitments in readiness for October's planned changes at work.
Delighted then to have just finished this highlight of my reading in 2025. #histbookchat

Publication day for Andrew Morton's 'Winston And The Windsors'.
A fantastic account of W.C's relationship with the monarchy through two world wars & an abdication.
One of my books of the year! #histbookchat

The family village back in Lincolnshire has a pillbox in a farmer's field. I learnt a few years ago that my Great Uncle was in the Home Guard there. I like to think that he must have been in that box at some point.
Luckily I now have a few days off that coincides with Storm Amy's arrival.
For this #histbookchat and weekend, I shall be reading & reviewing a new book that I cannot tell you about! ??🤫??
It is excellent so far & under a publicity embargo until next week.
So a photo of my most recent purchase. 📚
My latest read, courtesy of @scriptbooks.bsky.social, is written by the chief German intelligence officer during the time surrounding D-Day.

This year I've cleared 2 of 4 boxes from the garage. Books that included impulse buys, cheap second-hand finds or those where the cover tempted me.
So many have proved disappointing, so by 75-100 pages it's on to the next. Harsh but they had a chance.
Can we run a poll? 😂

Last night saw the launch of 'The Shy Assassin' by Black Robertson at Aces High Gallery. A good time was had by all!

Major Friedrich Hayn was a German intelligence chief stationed in Normandy at the time of the D-Day landings.

Lists are a must have. Mostly so I don't buy the same book twice.
With my memory, I would probably be looking for a quote in the wrong book! 😂
Tired eyes of an evening have put a huge dent in a pre-bedtime read.
I don't think I've asked this question on here before.

As we start a new month. Do you set yourself regular reading targets, or note how much you have read?
With irregular shift patterns nowadays I have had to learn to accept that my daily reading time will fluctuate.

This coming week sees @grubstreetuk.bsky.social publication of the remarkable & unknown story of one of 'the few'. A Spitfire ace who would later also fly on bombing raids. #histbookchat

Early shifts this week, but I have still managed to get halfway through this excellent book, which is published next week by @grubstreetuk.bsky.social.
Definitely one to look out for. #histbookchat
It's either sell that, or the yacht berthed at Monaco. 😂
A bookmark with a little changeable dial showing emojis could help share that reader's thoughts on said book without breaking the silence protocol.
👍👎🥰😏🤯🤬
