Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

During a staff meeting today, one Fortune employee asked the company's CEO why she deserves to remain in charge: "After last year's profit miss, questionable revenue allocation, and now multiple rounds of painful layoffs, many employees are openly questioning the strength of Fortune's c-suite."
In an email to employees, Fortune says it has cut 10% of staff, the result of a decline in traffic, and rise of audio/video. The company says its new strategy is "to cultivate our premium franchise communities and deliver premium editorial content to them."

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.
