Today marks 45 years since the launch of Soyuz 38 which carried Yuri Romanenko and Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez to the Salyut 6 station. Arnaldo would become the first Cuban citizen to spend time in orbit. Salyut 6 would eventually support 6 long-term and 10 short-term crews from 1977 to 1981.
