Honestly have no idea how this works.
One new TV show I watched recently which I thoroughly enjoyed was HAZBIN HOTEL. An animated adult musical comedy about a redemption hotel in Hell. The songs are excellent and it absolutely wouldn't be nearly as good a show without them. (1/2)

As you'll hear from the episode, Brendan's show with Jenny Bede was the first Edinburgh show I ever saw. I have seen a great deal of his work since and have worked with him too, an incredibly funny and generous performer. We had a marvellous chat and it was really nice to talk about Buffy too!
Oh look! It's Episode 63! And who is that? Why it's our special guest BRENDAN MURPHY (@notmurphy.bsky.social). Alex spoke to Brendan about bags, Buffy and bleach-blonde hair. Listen whilst you're enjoying a coffee or 'Out. For. A. Walk... Bitch' (as the kids say, IYKYK).

Absolutely terrific show! The script by Isley Lynn & Libby Rodliffe is so sharp and funny and Rodliffe's multi-character performance is incredible. She holds you for the full 90 mins and doesn't waver for a moment. I highly recommend you go see JOBSWORTH! parktheatre.co.uk/events/jobsw...
Jobsworth - Park Theatre
Even with three full-time jobs, Bea’s still financially f*cked. Can she get herself out of the red and into the black? Or will the plates she’s spinning come crashing down around her? A riotous comedy...

I have worked with Terry a couple of times, he's a lovely guy and I've always really admired how honest and open he is about his craft. He was also the first impressionist I had guesting on the podcast and it was fascinating to hear him talk about that side of comedy. Give it a listen!
'That was the first time'. Next up in the Archives is Episode 31 - my chat with the man, the myth, the mimic, @terrymynott.bsky.social. Here is an example from him of how you can go about trying to capture and refine an impression. (1/2)

November Isolation Cinema from the last week or so. Three independent romantic films preceded by a high-octane buddy-cop bromance action. You gotta mix things up occasionally.

I was very fortunate to lock in this recording just weeks before Róisín had her baby (🎉). I had previously met her and Chiara separately but this was the first time the three of us had properly chatted together and it was bloody lovely!
Episode 62 has hatched and our special guests are Róisín & Chiara. In this online three-way, Alex spoke to the comedy duo about art college, Italian comics, fancying Blackadder, and allowing their 'freak flag' to fly. Listen and find out why the two of them can no longer have s'mores... (1/2)

I met Alexis only once about ten years ago in Brighton so it was a real pleasure to catch up and properly shoot the shit with him after so long. And now you too can enjoy our chinwag!
Salut! Episode 61 has arrived, consisting of special guest @alexisdubus.bsky.social (aka Marcel Lucont). Alex spoke to Alexis about Whine Lists, 1-star reviews, and the work of Ubersausage! Who remembers Edinburgh Fringe's Page of Shame? Bonne écoute! (1/2)

I've worked with James before and had seen many Beasts shows but this was the first time we'd properly sat down and chatted which was lovely. Enjoy!
We've hit 60 (Episode, not Birthday)! Our special guest to mark this remarkable occasion is JAMES MCNICHOLAS!

Alex spoke to James about Horrible Histories, sketch personas, and finally getting to show off his range via song lyrics. Listen and never hear Hanson's MMMBop in the same way again. (1/2)

I wish more people knew about this extraordinary hip hop album. It has become for me the definitive album for Bonfire Night. I listen to it every year. Still a work of incredible art and the last 2 minutes always sends little shivers up my spine. Everybody stay ON. jonclark.bandcamp.com/album/on

Halloween week! Here is what I chose for my spooky viewing (as well as a repeat screening of both The Wicker Man and The Fog). Coincidentally, all of these were to do with being kept in horrific houses. I didn't plan that. It was the demons.

Lee is an absolute king when it comes to sketch comedy - in writing, performing, teaching and championing it. He was one of the first people I met in sketch comedy, he's the loveliest man and he taught me one of the most valuable comedy writing exercises of my life. What was it? Listen and find out!
As we continue through the Archives, we reach Episode 28 and our conversation with Lee Griffiths. Here, we talk about his naked Miley Cyrus 'Wrecking Ball' parody in Late Night Gimp Fight and how he's now paying the price for it... (1/2)

So Disney+ has gone the way of Netflix in that only one household can have it. Fuck these streamers! DVDs and Blu-Ray are better anyway and I will die on that hill.

"You and he were... Buddies, weren't you?"

You can hear me waffle on about Garth Marenghi on this Halloween special of YHBW. Great fun as always! Dim the lights or switch them off if you don't have dimmers... And enjoy. Well, I SAY enjoy...
It’s Halloween fellow dream-weavers, as we take a look at look at spooky, cult classic Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace

So grab some delicious chicken and a bag of batteries from the market and strap in!
