That is not Trump's strategy, David. That is simply who Trump is.
Trump’s whole strategy is to be so outrageous on multiple fronts—racism, corruption, misogyny, nativism, plutocracy, greed, authoritarianism, etc.—that it’s nearly impossible to keep a focus on any individual outrage or maintain a high level of indignation and concern. It’s deliberate bludgeoning.
I know it's too easy to grow numb to the constant flood of bigotry that comes out of his mouth but it does seem morally important you don't allow yourself or anyone else to become desensitized to this vile racism as a normal part of our politics

In my military experience, leaders sacrifice for their subordinates, and those subordinates sacrifice with their leaders for the mission. In no case whatsoever do subordinates sacrifice for their leaders. None. Ever. DUI-hire Hegseth is no leader. He does seem to be a murderer, however.
It's the opposite of "the buck stops here". He is selling out Admiral Bradley and sending chills down the spines of his chain of command, who now know their boss will sell them out if he is taking heat. A case study in how not to lead.

No matter who it is, the best approach almost always is to reward good behavior and condemn bad behavior. We make better people that way, and Greene is slightly better now than she has been. Seize this opportunity to make her even better. Epstein's victims are showing the way.
