This shit sucks man. Medically proven and effective treatment that would save trans youth a lifetime of pain and discomfort in their own bodies thrown in the trash because our country enables the most evil people imaginable.

3 days. Americans could bring this administration and the government to a screeching halt if at least 15 million would just strike for 3 days in a row.

Is there anyone who knows the folk music degree at Newcastle? I know a thoroughly folky 21 year old who has 3 A levels but not in music. Experienced singer and songwriter, decent guitarist, great trad repertoire. Very keen to apply but not sure that they would qualify for an offer.

Folks starting or early in their journey learning French, it might be fun to learn poems by heart or practice reading them out loud.

Jacques Prévert's poems are known for brevity, simplicity, and emotional depth.

A powerful story of heartbreak and courage…

“I was ready to spend the rest of my life living in my house in Maine. … I started to feel that we were genuinely unsafe. If you have a trans kid, you can see this shit coming from a mile away.”
New Yorker posts unique multi-media story about an affirming single mom who fled US to support her 16 y/o trans child. Interestingly, she left Maine, one of the more supportive states so far. [no paywall]
A Mother and Her Trans Teen Decide to Leave the U.S.
After President Trump issued an executive order aimed at restricting access to gender-affirming care for minors, one family made the difficult choice to relocate to Mexico City.

Ceding rights does not work as a strategy and it necessarily means sacrificing the lives of Americans as well, lives like J.J. and their mom.

If we still wonder how the Holocaust could have happened, that is how.

Stop, dig in and defend the rights of all Americans. There will no other chance.

You cannot trade in one human right in hopes of preserving others. That’s never how it works.

Authoritarians, driven by bigotry hate, will never be satisfied. These radical right wingers are already moving to abolish abortion rights, gay marriage and gay adoption, and to revive conversion therapy

Fun fact: in the 1960s, Civil Rights protestors were given literal classes on nonviolent protest; they didn't all just spontaneously know what to do.

So, if you're planning on showing up, this weekend: read this comic. And if you're staying home, signal-boost it/link it around.
