It is really important to understand - the whole point of them using the Alien Enemies Act is they can end-run due process, which is where the folks caught by ICE have the chance to prove they're not gang members, are legitimate asylum requesters, or are in the US legally - or have citizenship.
Posting tonight ti shine a light on what the Alien Enemies Act looks like IRL. Our @immdef.bsky.social client fled Venezuela last year & came to US to seek asylum. He has a strong claim. He was detained upon entry because ICE alleged his tattoos are gang related. They are absolutely not. 🧵
