There was lead across the board, but I'm also not surprised that the brands with the least lead were the ones that have been around for 20 years and you can buy in a grocery store, and the brands with the most lead were the ones that became popular on TikTok seven minutes ago

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

Should the subarchetype matrix sheet have data in it at this point? I think this is the earliest I've looked at one of these so I'm not sure if that comes later.

I know everyone is exhausted by B&R talk, but it's kind of a huge bummer that 5/8 of the top 8 is the same between this year and the last. We really need to turn a new leaf in 2026, and I hope it starts with axing no less than Tamiyo and The One Ring.

Congrats to our 2025 NA Legacy Champs Top 8!

Good luck to all of the gamers out there this weekend, especially if you're sporting Aether Vials!

I'm glad to hear this but was also confused. Cosigning the last letter, which says Joe plans to attend in 2026, reads like you lifted the ban for future events, despite the language of your original statement. Not that you need more on your plate w/ EW tomorrow, but that's prob worth clarifying soon

Card Titan stood by their decision. I'll never know if there was any chance they wouldn't, but thank you all for showing your support. And thanks to Card Titan for not being afraid to ban a well-known community member for shitty behavior. Can't say the same for all TOs.

Important clarification: the MAGA hat is just the most visible thing and a reason so many people dislike him. He was actually banned for multiple reports of bad behavior at EW last year to players and staff. The hat is just the easy scapegoat for people defending him because of "tHe FiRsT aMeNdMeNt"
akaleth.bsky.social
I think you got lucky, you might be the first person I've heard talk about Jody in the past 8 years who didn't describe him as a huuuuuuuuuge scumbag.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the name Nick Price but have never met them or interacted. But I'm glad every time it's not a surprise for someone
akaleth.bsky.social
I know it was shared somewhere before there were any names attached to it, so at least some people read it before signing. But that a non-zero number of people *didn't* calls into question the legitimacy of the entire list.
akaleth.bsky.social
It is not. There were multiple reports of bad behavior last year, from both staff and players. We don't have details (nor should we) but Card Titan cited behavioral problems in their email to him.

The cool thing about Magic the Gathering is how it uses the mechanics to tell the story of a card. Final Fantasy is also a series invested in developing a narrative through mechanics. The Spider-Man set is “what if Spider-Man was here”
akaleth.bsky.social
He shared the email that he received from CT somewhere. They cited complaints about his behavior last year, of which I'm familiar with at least one, but included no details about those incidents, because that's like rule 0 of this kind of stuff. Otherwise he'd know exactly who complained.

don't want to be the person to say this but the hat was not the reason brennan was banned, it was talking about grabbing his cards' pussy during matches and other similar antisocial behaviour that amounted to harassment
i had no hand in the decision but know the details and it wasn't political views

No, you all don't understand. It's not about politics. It's about ethics in vintage tournament attendance.
akaleth.bsky.social
There were multiple reports for his poor behavior last year, including someone I personally know who had a panic attack largely because of Joe's behavior. CardTitan cited behavioral problems in their email to him about his banning, though did not provide specifics, nor should they.
akaleth.bsky.social
The most visible issue is he wears a MAGA hat to every tournament (he has recently switched to wearing a 2nd Amendment hat instead, since that's *so* much better). Uses extremely gross language to refer to some cards in his vintage deck (e.g. "grab my pussy" = paying for Lurrus companion tax)
akaleth.bsky.social
Tied for first with "every name you recognize is someone who you already didn't like"
akaleth.bsky.social
Unfortunately I think that one is face up. He's been able to get by because he's been ingrained with the Vintage Old Boys Club for forever, and Brian Kelly is way too central of a figure there.
