Cop City RICO update: A status hearing has been added to the docket for May 14, possibly for all defendants. A status hearing is usually to check in about scheduling and/or status of outstanding motions, although the status hearing won’t be the venue for hearing motions themselves. 1/4

Fiction: FEMA paid $59 million last week for illegal immigrants to stay luxury hotel rooms in NYC

Fact: FEMA administered funds allocated by Congress via the Shelter and Services Program (for CBP) which reimburses jurisdictions for immigration-related expenses. FEMA just sends the payments.
