Happy Amazon Prime Day! Amazon collects mountains of data about how you use the service, but there is a setting you can change to make it harder for the company to use that data to sell you more things. #OptOutOctober www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

Like a lot of rural, poor and agrarian parts of the country San Angelo should be an easy win for Dems if they could just get their shit together. Maybe Talarico has figured it out, I dunno.
samatl.bsky.social
I’m sure this guy is just another terrible Democrat but drawing that kinda crowd in West Central Texas is something.
samatl.bsky.social
I….okay.

For reference, if you’ve heard of the Abeline data center project, San Angelo is just south of Abeline.

Huge crowd for James Talarico in deep red San Angelo, TX!

This county hasn’t voted for a Democrat since LBJ, but they showed up for Talarico.
samatl.bsky.social
That’s an insanely huge crowd.

There are a number of GOP candidates, elected and not, who became famous b/c of viral videos: eg, Ben Carson (who confronted Obama at a prayer breakfast), Lauren Boebert, etc.

Is Talerico the first Dem to follow this path?

A few hours before troopers started dragging protesters away, another reporter asked if we've seen a lot of feds kneeling on people "like George Floyd."

Told him on any given day in this country, a cop is doing that. That's policing. Of course the feds are, too. This is mundane for them.

Extremely funny that people think this is now a Pritzker hate account when all we've been doing is documenting the same police violence we've been documenting well before this ICE surge

Sorry for disrupting your worldview. Welcome to what cops are!!!

I can't stress enough that if this is what Border Patrol does to a middle-aged Midwestern white woman producer on camera, imagine what they are doing to people who are *not* middle-aged Midwestern white women off-camera

ty to @jamesstout.bsky.social for mentioning the deportation of Mario Guevara on this week's episode of Executive Disorder (which you should be listening to anyway). Gwinnett Co. Sheriff's Office & ICE explicitly targeted Mario bc of his work as a journalist.

Yeah that’ll do it
A picture of a power pole snapped completely in half after a car accident. Half of the pole is still being held in the air by the power lines, the other half of the pole is sticking out of the ground at a low angle.

So this is a pretty wild part of the TRO: mandating agents wear visible identification. Taking bets on how long before they violate it, lol
It is further ORDERED that all Federal Agents, excepting those who do not wear a uniform or other distinguishing clothing or equipment in the regular performance of their official

duties or are engaged in undercover operations in the regular performance of their official duties, must have visible identification (for which a unique recognizable alphanumeric identifier sequence will suffice) affixed to their uniforms or helmets and prominently displayed, including when wearing riot gear.
