Saw a plane from a train that then went under a highway, for today’s planes, trains, and automobiles crowd.

Just thinking about how we don’t teach kids to read, we send them to schools where they have to practice shooter drills (if they’re lucky enough to not experience a shooting directly), we let them and their families be overrun by covid infections, and we’ve allowed a fascist take-over…
I've never encountered more students who say they hate reading. Students who want to be teachers, writers, or both. I wonder if "hate" means "I have trouble reading," but I also talk with so many students who write in a genre but refuse to read in it. They can't see themselves in relation to others.

Humanity deliberately punching itself in the head over and over and then looking at those of us still masking and asking why
I just read my tenth #COVID19 research study in the past month or so that demonstrates COVID infections cause brain changes that may accelerate Alzheimer's disease, are associated with cognitive decline, and cause fatigue, memory impairment, and sleep disorders. (1/?)

The other thing I learned a lot about yesterday was Princess Natalia/Natalie Paley, who survived the Russian revolution by walking over the border to Finland with her sister. She eventually became an America socialite and actor/model.

Today I unexpectedly learned about Josiah Henson, whose life inspired Uncle Tom’s Cabin and who rescued hundreds of people on the Underground Railroad after he himself escaped to Canada with his family.

He eventually traveled the world and met Queen Victoria.

The lesbian-clocking scenes in this show might be my favorite thing on every rewatch. #ThePitt

Huh. Well. FYI.

So often captions bungle other languages and we hates it.
Heated Rivalry watching PSA: there are a couple scenes where people are having extended conversations in Russian without captions but it turns out that if you have the closed captions turned on overall, there will not be captions on those Russian scenes. So you have to turn off the captions

Jamal Hinton and Grandma Wanda officially celebrate Thanksgiving together for a 10th year. 🦃

It’s very normal that the show parallels Casey and Dan with Isaac and his wife. I have felt very normal about this for 25 years.

Today I am mostly here to produce cocktail hour (later) and also yell "boogie woogie woogie" if I hear someone in the kitchen say "it's electric."

Went through and unsubscribed from several theater lists for venues in other cities. Tomorrow we will see how many Black Friday emails annoy me enough to further trim...

For NYC locals, Tom Cashman's show at Soho Playhouse in January is on sale! I am thankful for that.

If this works they’ll know they can get away with anything. #uspoli
So, while I'm not fan of Mark Kelly, I will say I'm entertained by the fact that *he's* the guy this administration has decided to target, the clean-cut former astronaut/fighter ace with a universally beloved wife. Wow, guys, why don't you accuse apple pie & baseball of sedition while you're at it?

Today, we recognize the National Day of Mourning and stand in solidarity with Indigenous and Native American communities. The destructive legacies of colonialism must be remembered as we fight for both labor justice and a more representative and diverse American theatre.

I’m out of town, but do I know anyone who can help Mark out???
Hi Bluesky.

My wife is in the Macy’s Parade tomorrow.

I’m looking for people who might have an office or apartment on the parade route. Somewhere where I could come and take pictures and watch without wading through the people on the street. I know, I am asking for a miracle…

It’s in the mid-60s and sunny and people in DC are walking around in jackets.

Meanwhile I’m out there in a t-shirt.

In theory a harvest festival based on local foods, community, and gratitude is one of the best holidays we can have.

No religion, etc. It’s why I think it should be a rescuable holiday…because everyone does harvest/food festivals. Confront the history but don’t toss the rest in the trash.
As a settler colonial state Thanksgiving is complicated (I get that) but the foods trace back to its origins as a harvest festival

After 2 weeks ago, the best time to get your vaxxes is today.
It's a very very bad flu season this year. If you haven't gotten your vaxx yet (looks at herself*) get it. At minimum it will make your infection less bad.

*(Time got away from me and I'm too chicken shit to mix Covid and Flu vaccines so I got my Covid shot but not my flu . I will tomorrow!)
A New Flu Variant May Make Cold Season Brutal This Year
U.S. flu rates remain low, but experts are keeping an eye on a new strain that’s been linked to unexpectedly early and severe seasons in several other countries

I am tired of “actually X is bad” takes this week. Can we all remember taste is subjective and maybe focus a bit more on gratitude and togetherness for the rest of this week.
