I discovered today that I have been using my wet palette wrong for at least two years and it works *so much better* if you don't let the top of the palette paper get wet as well as the bottom. This may seem obvious in retrospect but at least it works much better now!

Back when I got into 40k, the plasma gun was considered ancient rare tech that punctured any armor that wasn't an invuln save and always blew up on a 1 and killed the user.
Nowadays plasma has morphed into something else and now we have disintigrators that do almost exactly what plasma used to do

While I'm soapboxing: I miss map campaigns. If there's no ongoing effect to the results of the game I'm playing, I'm not incentivized to care if my units live or die. If losing my expensive cool unit means I lose them from the campaign roster (or even a d6 chance of losing them) I play differently.

My possibly unpopular tabletop wargaming take is that re-rolls universally suck.
They ruin good narrative moments. They turn everything into an attempt to combo off into a situation where you can re-roll until you succeed at somrthing. And they fuck up the probability and make balancing fucky.

I think i was too harsh to False Gods along the way. I maintain it should have been 2 books not one, but it is much better by the end than I credited it
