Battletech goes synthwave with this Vapor Eagle for my newest merc band, Malibu Overdrive. This was such a departure from my comfort zone but I'm so happy I tried it now that it's done.
Also I'd like to make sure @radokely.bsky.social is credited for the amazing art 👏
This is the sort of stuff that sends me down Wikipedia holes lol
I'm sure I'm explaining this badly but it fascinated me. Evolutionary biologists feel free to take me to school.
Like, cows have to spend s lot of their time and energy processing low nutrient density grass, whereas humans can access and process very nutrient dense food like fruits, meat, vegetables, etc without needing as complicated or energy intensive digestive tracts.
Sometimes I learn stuff that just blows my mind. Apparently there's a theory that the invention of cooking food was a significant development in why human brains were able to evolve to be as intelligent as they are, since our digestive system doesn't have to be as robust.
I just saw someone actually use the phrase "streets ahead" in the wild. So I'm forced to conclude that maybe it is actually verbal wildfire and maybe I am actually streets behind.
Happy to inspire any and all pun related infuriations at the tabletop :P
BUT the actual panic in my players when I started moving the animatronics between rooms while they were in other parts of the restaurant was worth every hour of prep.

Including when the mage first realized the animatronics were not where he'd last seen them:
Two years ago I subjected my Shadowrun players to a run to steal misused animatronic characters from a closed down family restaurant called Noodle-Doodle-Doo.

Equal parts FNAF and Scooby Doo (the animatronics were being puppeted by a former employee to stop the building from being sold).
I would play the hell out of an Owlcat Shadowrun game 🤘
This isn't to say Bloodlines 1 isn't worth it, but don't let people convince you it was something it wasn't when the new game drops and isn't whatever they're expecting it to be.
What it was not was a fun game to do combat in, and it really let down much of what made it great as you move into the third act because the studio didn't have the money to finish it properly.

So the third act is almost entirely long combat dungeons. In a game that previously rewarded not fighting
Bloodlines 1 is a cult hit because it nailed a lot of tonal things about VTM, because it was an action rpg that really played up social and stealth in a time where that was not the norm, and because it had some really fascinating quest design that rewarded creative problem solving.
I think its worth saying - regardless of the quality of Bloodlines 2 this weekend you're about to be inundated with people comparing it to Bloodlines 1.

Do not let them convince you that Bloodlines 1 was some magic, perfect

I love it, but it was broken as fuck and the third act was unfinished.
Honestly really glad to hear that. I will put up with some not great games for a good Vampire story. Might wait for a sale if the story proves to be the only major selling point, but Bloodlines 1 was a janky disaster with a garbage third act and I still enjoyed it!
*enhanced, not enchanted even though this is Shadowrun lol
Facts about Shiva - my Shadowrun character:

- His hair is woven with fiber optic strands that cycle color slowly but constantly

- His tattoos follow the course under his skin of enchanted nerve cyberware

- Obsessed with empanadas

- Bought a Troll sized pickup truck to annoy other truck owners
I mean I'd be startled if that's what did it for Manfred.

Like, this bio here is fantastic. I did not know this artist before today - my coworker added a song to a group playlist by them and this tells me literally everything I need. It describes the vibe of the music, when the band got together, the members of the band, and their best-known song.
Ok I did nearly spit out my drink here 😅
You being famous is probably why I have heard of you enough to ne looking at your artist's bio to begin with so what's the point of reiterating how famous and wonderful you are instead of talking about the music you make so I can appreciate it in the spirit it was intended?
I know why they do it but I hate when artists' descriptions/bios are like "X artist is the globally acclaimed phenomenon redefining what music means to generations of avid fans and transcending lyrics to communicate their sound."

*What. kind. of. music. do. you. make?*
I know that Shadowrun's rules are big turn off to people for being very complicated but I just cannot help loving it despite still constantly feeling like I'm learning new ways I'm doing things incorrectly.
