I’m not a posting/re-posting kind of person, so I wouldn’t recommend following me unless you’re dying to see my comments on other people’s posts. I’m here for baseball, basketball, urbanism, travel, tech, and my unfortunate addiction to current events.

2nd best Richie to wear a Mariners uniform. No Richie is better than Richie Sexson. This judgment is strictly based on how fun the name is to say, not at all on playing ability.

It is at least *interesting* that the people making this supposedly world-changing technology think its most profitable use cases are: social media videos and sexting.

Dear Toronto: We will stop scoring runs this game if Doug Ford agrees to stop tearing out bike lanes. Until then, the runs will continue.

I would have thought so as well, after how hard Seattle had to work to win the DS

My family (I was the only child with a whole lot of adults) split up in ‘96 for our last day of Disney. Misunderstanding of meeting time and place led to half the family being 2 hours late, my mom reporting them missing, and us almost missing our flight home. That was a pleasant flight 🙃

I’m begging people to please memorize the phone number of at least one emergency contact! There’s no guarantee you’ll have use of your phone in all of life’s situations.

Since we know national media will ignore it, maybe we all need to submit news tips to our local news orgs to get coverage on this.

Watch the guy immediately behind him. His eyes start darting from side to side with confusion as if to say “did anyone else hear that? Did I hear him right?”

I think they’re trying. Pretty sure I’ve never seen so many pop-ups in a game in my life.

How did Dingler’s knees not fall off after popping up to make that throw?

At a certain point, the ALCS doesn't actually "start." The Jays just show up and take over a dugout from one of these teams and the game continues.

One year, my dad missed my birthday because he had to cover a baseball game. Or: part of a game. The end of a Red Wings-PawSox battle that had been postponed after the first 32 innings ended in a tie several months prior. The Sox won it in the 33rd.

If we get to the 16th, he’s going to be calling for a bunt with two outs and no one on

I always felt that way about McCarver before Smoltz. Feels like a pattern where a lot of analysts, especially at the national level, get douchier the more comfortable they get in their role.

I agree, with the caveat that that’s more of a testament to just how bad Smoltz is

baseball is the best preparation for death because it does not come with a clock that tells you when your suffering will end one way or the other
