Consequences just ahead
Now that COP30 has ended as a COP-tastrophe (thanks Drilled Media) and this despite the UNEP clearly outlining that in order to remain below 2ºC will require that emissions fall by ~5% PER YEAR beginning now. What are the emissions projections for 2025? Given all this, it is little wonder that Dr James Hansen in […]

The described and drawn ideas revolved around greater play areas, music, community food (even a free Michelin star restaurant for locals!), spaces to relax in, and greater green spaces.
Also included were ideas for inventions like kinetic floor tiles which produce energy through jumping on them.

From superblocks to energy-producing floor tiles (and even a free Michelin restaurant!), they came up with wonderfully fresh ideas. 🌱

Critics of renewable energy often claim that these technologies are making the world’s electricity grids more vulnerable to power outages.

Hard data suggests otherwise.

Fact check: Do renewables really make electricity grids less reliable?
In Germany, power availability to homes and businesses has increased over the years – even as the share of renewables has climbed.

Better to farm solar for energy
than to farm crops to use for biofuels

1ha solar array ~600kW
1000-1500 MWh/year (varies with location)

>100x more energy than

1ha planted crop for biofuels
- Soybean: ~8.3 MWh/yr

The latest Doctor I’ve had to visit was a delight- she realised my German wasn’t completely fluent and so we switched to French as her Spanish wasn’t great- a smattering of English, quick return to German at the end and then an Arabic farewell! And hopefully a full treatment plan!

In his hospital bed,

Watching the hate-filled racism oozing across the media,

Talk of 'Britishness', and panning 'immigrants', demanding the race of the attacker be revealed,

Never once demanding the ethnicity of the brave man who saved dozens of lives
