I had visited Alcatraz in November many years ago. It’s a place I’ve been interested in because the family lore is that my great grandpa was sent there after burning a trading post down. How true that is? I’m not sure. I tried finding his name in the book they had of prisoners but couldn’t find it.

America is an INCREDIBLY violent country. Both internally and externally.

I am not sure what is meant by statements like this.

It just isn’t true. Maybe it’s aspirational. Maybe they mean violence SHOULD have no place.

But as it is, it clearly does. Front and center, and constantly.
Violence has no place in America.

Place National Guard in harm’s way for no good reason. Two members are tragically and unnecessarily shot. The reckless regime’s response: We’re sending 500 more National Guard troops! What a disgrace.

After 400 years, Indigenous people reflect on the real story of the 'first Thanksgiving'
It's a story of friendship betrayed by greed and intolerance, of a nation's lands, economy and religion whittled away in the name of manifest destiny.

I showed my niece my Blusky profile pic and she said “why’s your hair bushy?” 😂😂😂😂 She use to say “pretty auntie” when she would see a pic of me. I never knew 3 yr olds could be so judgmental 😂😂

Got both my flu and COVID shots simultaneously a few hours ago. Here is an update: the arm where I got the COVID shot is sore. The flu arm feels fine. I also feel fine.

This is the first time I ever got both shots at the same time.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

Years ago, someone asked my favorite Xmas movies. It’s the Beatles A Hard Day’s Night and Help, not Christmas films, but my mom got me these around Christmas time when I was 12, so they feel like Xmas movies to me.

For an actual favorite Christmas movie, though, it’s The Muppet Christmas Carol.

This is my fourth Navajo Nation administration I’ve covered and this is by far the messiest. It’s embarrassing.

Of course, my coverage now isn’t as it use to be because our readers really don’t care as much as when I covered solely for Navajo readers. But, damn. Smh.
