My favorite aspect of the Columbus legend is him getting rejected by the Portuguese gets spun as them not recognizing the genius of his idea. No - he went into a roomful of expert navigators and made basic math mistakes, they thought he was a moron, and they wouldn't fund his idea on that basis.

Have you had any hardware issues with Yoto? I was reading from Ash Brandin ("The Gamer Educator" on IG) that Yotos break just enough to be useless about 2 yrs in, and Yoto has a habit of not honoring warranties or otherwise helping 😞

Relatedly, one red flag I have learned to see lately is the person who *needs* to be the child whisperer.

Because that is a person whose ego is at odds with the child's ability to maintain healthy boundaries and make their own choices about who to trust

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
