We just about record a 2-1 win over Notts County as the newly promoted side return to WHL 8 months after our FA Cup QF.
Mabbutt reminded us of his earlier years as a goalscoring midfielder with this well struck winner.

Steffen Iversen makes his much anticipated debut. He didn't score in this 2-1 win at Coventry but was involved in the winning goal.

How excited were you at the time for Iversen? As Gerry Francis told me we'd tracked him for a long time!

I’ve said this several times on @thegameisaboutglory.co.uk - as pathetic as it is (and I’m definitely guilty) - our mood and vibes are always impacted by how they’re doing. While they’re doing so well it’s increases the anxiety.
I think the early kick off and result for Arsenal gave fans a real fillip. Sounds made up but people really did cheer on the train on the way to the ground when the result came through.

Trying to get out of mindset of over analysing what this performance might mean for the future- it was just nice for the soul to go and enjoy a game of football and to come home happy 😃
December 6, 2025 at 11:04 PM
Credit where it’s due as I’ve been very critical of TF and downbeat…but really enjoyed the performance today. Intensity and intent from first minute so much better. Both eye test and match stats back this up.
Admittedly this is an outlier at this point but good day and hopefully more to come 💪

Going just outside my usual date range to bring some good memories of this day...as Robbie Keane scores a hat-trick and Stephane Dalmat scores a wonder goal in this entertaining 5-2 win over Wolves.
The 2003/4 season was even more 90s chaos than most of the 90s to be fair!

Despite playing against 10-men for the whole second half we can't score against a resolute West Ham defence in this frustrating 0-0 draw.

We all flocked to WHL to see how our new manager Christian Gross would fare in his first home game as we looked to end the now 8-season Chelsea hoodoo.
If you only watched until HT you'd never believe how it ended 😦

It's another home defeat to Chelsea (3 in 4 since they returned to the top flight). This time all the goals are scored in the final 15 minutes. I'm sure I speak for all of us for wanting to petition for our goal to be credited to Justin Edinburgh🤔

The Atmosphere at Spurs: Blame the Club before Blaming the Fans

I've got a potential interview lined up with Jason Dozzell for Season 2 of @spursnostalgiapod.bsky.social. What questions would you like me to ask him? Do you have any specific memories of his time at Spurs?
I'm just reading his book. He's very honest about some of his challenges.

Paul Allen scores a wonderful goal in this 2-1 win at Coventry in the League Cup. All League Cup games, especially, under the lights on a midweek felt really special events. This was one of many I spent listening to on Capital Gold.

It's 1996. We'd suffered an horrendous week with heartbreaking late defeat at Arsenal, a humiliating 6-1 loss at Bolton in the cup and then even our own turf transpired against us and Ian Walker in this home game against Liverpool live on Sky 😱

An electric night under the lights at WHL on this day in 1998 as we beat Man Utd 3-1 to reach the League Cup SF.

It may not have been a full strength Man U side but we had to be at our most best with Ginola inspired:
