💡Our new analysis: in just 9 days, support for a Transition Away from Fossil Fuels (TAFF) Roadmap has grown from 1 to 62 countries—an extraordinary wave of momentum that underscores global readiness to move beyond #FossilFuels.

COP30 ended w/o a roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels but that won't stop the momentum from growing. It's not the urgent phase-out we need but still a welcome start:

Cop30 didn't deliver all we hoped for; there were some wins, including recognition of Indigenous territories as a climate solution. It also underscored that climate leadership comes from the people, and we must keep the pressure on our governments to leave fossil fuels in the past!

If left unchecked, powerful people who care more about profit than anything else will just keep making decisions that bring them more money, no matter the cost to our communities and our planet.

This is why public protest and civil society pressure continue to be critical. ✊

At #COP30, Bangladesh’s new carbon market framework was pre-launched. Amanullah Porag , 350's South Asia Mobilizations Coordinator, warns that it risks turning climate-vulnerable countries like Bangladesh into carbon credit suppliers that give rich countries & big polluters the license to pollute.

Bangladesh’s draft carbon market framework promises climate ambition, but risks selling off the very mitigation the country needs to meet its own future goals

The #COP30 Mutirão decision is here. On the one hand, we had the COP30 President speak in the closing plenary about the need for a roadmap to phase out fossil fuels.

On the other hand, no such roadmap appeared in the final text.

China’s getting strong coverage at #COP30 for climate leadership. But regional reports say Chinese institutions may fund #EACOP after global banks avoided it over environment & human rights risks. That’s a real credibility test. Our partner in Belém calls on China to walk the talk. #StopEACOP!

Fossil fuels are the #1 reason COPs exist, and the #1 thing we need to get rid of in order to save countless lives and prevent the worst of climate disaster.

Now, for the first time, a real roadmap for transitioning away from oil and gas is gaining support at COP30!

At #COP30, we demand a clear roadmap to fund renewables, protect nature, and support a just transition rooted in social equity—not profit.
