In Cary Elwes' book about making The Princess Bride, Rob Reiner is introduced with a hug. He then says:
"It should be noted that all hugs from Rob are bear hugs."
What lovely memories to leave behind, and what wonderful, meaningful stories to have helped tell.
Ní fheicimid a leithéid arís 💔
They all walked out. A few minutes later someone tapped me on the shoulder. It was Rob, saying he just wanted to say goodbye and how much he enjoyed our chat. I stood up to shake his hand and he gave me a big hug and said something so profoundly kind to me about something I shared with him.

Ireland should be doing more for Palestine, boycotting the genocidal state of Israel on every level: trade, sporting, and cultural links.

But RTE's stand on the Eurovision is still cause to be proud.

The passive language and obvious unsaid is infuriating. Still, STILL media spouts evasive crap like "despite disputes over its participation" rather than "due to their ongoing genocide and apartheid state criminality". #BoycottEurovision and throw a protesting Univision where Palestine headlines
Irish broadcaster explains its reason for pulling out of Eurovision over Israel's participation.
"It is unconscionable... given the appalling loss of lives in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there.”
Good to see a broadcaster putting humanity ahead of dollars.

1. "Rural Pursuits" sounds like a Jilly Cooper novel.

2. People (even rural ones) were giving out about fox hunting over a hundred years ago.

3. Cruelty-based sports aren't that popular, and people who live outside cities are crying out for good amenities.

4. What the actual fuck.
🗣️ “If a fox is being ripped limb from limb and is dying a slow and agonising death - how can you say you abhor animal cruelty?”

🗣️ “These are rural pursuits and have been for many, many years.”

Heather Humphreys discusses her support for fox hunting and hare coursing.
