It had become apparent to myself & @thelookout.bsky.social that there was Russian activity, possibly related to subsurface detection infrastructure, happening in the Barents Sea.

This is a map we did back in June of 2024, of selected AIS tracks.

It's great to see confirmation from journalists.

President Trump about Putin:

The only thing I can say is every time I speak with Vladimir, I have good conversations, and then they don't go anywhere.

Also the right plane for Ukraine!

And much easier to sell the Swedish public on Eurobonds(ie “Russian assets”) when money flows to Sweden. This is why Eurobonds for defense are like reverse NGEU.. money flows north, instead of south
Buy weapons from reliable allies.

(This is obviously a long-term order/project, but the signal is quite striking.)
Big news from Sweden:

A memorandum of understanding has been signed with Ukraine for the sale of up to 150 Gripen fighter jets
For Trump, it's never been about personal loyalty, but loyalty to the grift; a willingness to abet, at the least.

But people like Miller and Vought discovered they were too weak to strangle hookers, so they went into government.

As others have pointed out, corruption is an essential element of fa
When people call it fascism, it's almost giving Trump too much credit. It's just a looting spree. All the ideological moves - the murders at sea, the masked goons arresting folks in the streets, the collapse of rule of law - are just cover to steal as much as he can

🙄 This is worse than weather forecasting.
Not even a public comment period. Just a huge middle finger to the whole country.
Hmm. Anyone with any real principles AND an actual spine would own that fcking building and marshal every ounce of its Article I power to send all the Trumpist collaborators to prison.
He really is the biggest phony. But to be honest, it really takes the biggest phony to survive as Speaker of this House GOP. Anyone with any real principles would be in an impossible position.
I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.
Ha! Great catch! Man, that's one from deep in the couch cushions.
They think working for The Times gives them special gaslighting privileges. "I didn't actually write what you see here with your own eyes!" *slo-mo jazz hands*
What I wrote below, or, more coherently, something much bigger, akin to what David Brooks wrote about last week in The Atlantic, which was roundly poo-pooed here on BlueSky as undermining No Kings, which anyone would understand as an absurd take if they actually read Brooks' piece.
Something like this:
Evergreen problem of the left coalition.

Dems should adopt new identity as an ecumenical party, get rid of all but most basic planks, and actively spurn sectarian monomania.

Reorganize as a simple pipeline for any anti-fascist hopefuls. No cultural purity tests; push for primary/caucus reform. 🤷

I think you're talking about coalition building?

Focusing priorities by embiggening the tent.

Traditional conservatives and progressive can't get back to normal politicking until we all work together to save the republic from fascism.

Russia has rejected Trump’s proposed plan to freeze the war along current front lines. “Russia’s negotiation stance, to halt troops at existing positions, remains unchanged,” Kremlin spokesman Peskov stated.
No. I mean, yeah, they're stupid, but they also lie with abandon; why not now (about AUMF aegis)? Because this is yet another example of intentional front-loading to buttress the Unitary Executive argument.
