It’s like “nobody wants this” doesn’t even really describe the premise.

His mom would prefer he be with a Jewish girl, but pretty much everybody else is on board.

But I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen somebody say “goddammit Netflix you cancel ___ but keep ____ nobody wants this shit!”
Nobody Wants This is an okay show but it’s 100% another one of those naming things like Disney Frozen where Netflix is trying to court and redirect negative Google trending words.

The main flaw in the argument that the Nazis were socialists is that it’s hinged upon believing what a Nazi tells you about themselves

It's about time Strange Days finally begins getting the retrospective love and respect it deserves. To me, it's the best pre-Matrix cyberpunk film other than Blade Runner and Robocop, and still better than most cyberpunk films made since.

30 years ago, Katherine Bigelow made a sci-fi flop that changed her career for the better
Strange Days is a noir-soaked science-fiction thriller set against a backdrop of racial tension, police brutality, sexual assault, and disruptive tech

The cover image is ai, I’d guess. :(
Hopefully getting beaten back to the moon by China will get America’s head out of its ass
Don't forget the clock he holds up to the microphone to portend danger.
Theory: Something terrible happened to the deep-voiced guy who used to do the voice overs for movie trailers, and he can now only communicate by pressing a single key on a piano.
There are so many baffling decisions with the MacOS Tahoe redesign.

Windows has felt user hostile for decades, but this is the first time for me that MacOS has given me this "why would you do that?" hands shaking frustration.

So Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe are all gonna ban ChatGPT from receiving payments now, right?

Right??
Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

OpenAI’s strategy is very clear, it’s trying to get people - especially young people - so reliant on its products intellectually & emotionally (& now sexually!) that going without them becomes unthinkable. And they need signs of that strategy working to keep the funding flowing in
I think it’s a sign they’re looking for something — anything to become profitable.

And it ain’t gonna work, hun.

Tbf mass lead poisoning of young men might explain *quite a lot* of what’s been happening in recent years.
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

I just don’t really believe in dipping out halfway. Movies too, man.

It’s better to judge something holistically than based on the first 20%
‘Powering through’ a book you aren’t enjoying is a good thing.

Worst case, it’s a terrible book and you learn more about what makes art bad.

Best case, it changes your mind and you get to be humbled by the art of another human being, and are forever changed.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

remember when the marvel logo used to be flipping pages as a celebration of the artists and art behind these stories? no wonder they don’t use that one anymore

Belatedly reading about this and as always really important to remind people in *every breath* that when the right talks about “woke” and “DEI” they are talking about the cultural and political wins of the civil rights movement. This arrangement existed for 52 years because of historical activism.

When I was your age, searching for a phrase in quotes returned results for that exact phrase
It’s just the phrasing of the headline, friend. I’m saying there’s not ONE problem with billionaires. There’s at least two :)
¿por qué no los dos?
“The problem with billionaires isn’t that they’re hoarding money that would otherwise pay for a Scandinavian social utopia. It’s that their money has become a source of wildly distorted political power that allows a few men with extremist views to wreak havoc on the rest of us.”

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?
