Hey fans (and future fans) of Central Europe: We’ve got a new Moon Guide to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest out in the world!

Some of the guiding principles I used:

1 awesome public transport and walkability, so no car required to do all the fun stuff

Art Detectives is one of those I blew through too quickly (forgetting how short UK TV seasons are!)

Once you get further into it, @davechen.bsky.social’s LIB podcasts are very much worth a listen (If only to hear others equally flummoxed by this cast)!

A publicly-sourced archive of more than 10,000 national park signs and monument placards went public as part of a massive volunteer project to save historical and educational placards from around the country that risk removal by the Trump administration.

One of my favorite stories of resistance from the Prague Spring — citizens painted over street signs, and small towns used an “I am Spartacus” approach, so that invading Russian troops didn’t know where they were going.

In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.
This whole thread of Mister Global National Costumes (and commentary) is the joy we all need today.
Mr Ecuador. Look at how happy he is. This is a chap who is just *thrilled* to be there. Also look at how tiny his feet look peeping out of those giant fluffy trousers.
All the Broadway babies know this is a bonding experience:

“Sitting in the computer lab,
4am before the final paper is due, cursing the world 'cause I didn't start sooner, and seeing the rest of the class there, too!”

The only silver lining of this season is that it led me to your awesome podcast! 😬
I love a good word game, including @flaminghydra.com’s Hydranym.

Editors share a weekly theme & combo of letters. Subscribers create a phrase & vote for their faves. This is my first time with a winning idea!

Cheers to worker-owned journalism and creativity 🥂

Greta Thunberg, deported to Greece, says the targeting of the Sumud Flotilla is "not the story" @teenvogue.com — instead, she says:

"Israel once again violated international humanitarian law by preventing aid from getting into Gaza while people are being starved.”
Greta Thunberg On Her Detention: I'm "Not The Story" — It's Israel Violating International Humanitarian Law
“I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me. But that is not the story.”
