I missed this by two days, but agree the focus should be every day.
.
Indigenous Peoples Day . . .

... so much more would be needed than just one day.

And then there are those of us with chronic illness brain fog who spend hours to "crank out" one sentence or to even engage the creative mind. Writers are not all formed from a cookie cutter.

One more time: As it’s not “weaponization of justice” for law enforcement to prosecute someone who committed crimes trying to rob a bank, it’s also not weaponization of justice for law enforcement to prosecute someone who committed crimes trying to overthrow an American election.
As someone who has macular degeneration in both eyes, I encourage everyone, especially older folks like me, to get tested. It can't be cured, but it can be slowed drastically. Many never dev severe case if caught early.
Today is World Sight Day - a reminder of the importance of accessible and affordable eyecare for everyone, everywhere.

I developed an eating disorder called ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) because I became afraid of food and cut down to only 7 "safe" foods. Life is now a nightmare. But I'm doing recovery. Fingers crossed.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Thanks for the share!
I hope with all my heart this doesn't lead to people hating on those of us who still wear masks for our own health and that of others. Masking is still the best way to prevent disease transmission when out in public.

I will say that my dietician literally saved my life. Many ND people develop an eating disorder called ARFID. She recognized it by my restrictive eating, got me to an eating disorder doc who dx'ed me. I was dying. Now I'm recovering.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

@elinashaw.bsky.social says,
"Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
This is just stinking awesome
The other day I drew a subway-style map for The Hobbit, and it was very well received. Some of you asked if I could do one for LoTR, so I have!

Forgive the eel watermark; I'm working on making these something you can buy, if you like.
Thanks to @chronicpaincastle on Insta -- this is powerful. Wish I could have the chance to talk to some docs like this. (I found it on YT for you): #chronicfatiguesyndrome #MECFS #chronicillness
