Earlier post about the #Braves starting rotation.
Moving on to the starting rotation - a group with at least 16 names we can talk about that are possible for the 2026 rotation right now. Despite that, the Braves are considering adding a starter and it makes a lot of sense when you dive into the depth.

Offseason Preview 4/5 - The Starting Rotation. Tagline - The Braves have a lot of depth, but also a ton of concerns. https://open.substack.com/pub/walkoffwalk/p/offseason-preview-45-the-starting?r=1pjvc0&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
Abigail Spanberger should pull her ads and use this instead.

I won't often write two blog posts in one day, but I went down a rabbit hole looking at this transaction and wanted to share. It included an owner a lot like Ted Turner, players arguing to be free agents, and one of the best catchers of his era.

TOT (Transaction of Today - Boston Takes Advantage of Wolverines' Financial Mess. Tagline: The Detroit Wolverines were an ambitious team with an aggressive owner. When things went bad, Boston quickly exploited it.
"Kerplunk" by Green Day. I found it after "Dookie" came out, but wore out the cassette in my Walkman on the school bus and holy shit, I'm old.
a poll idea that just popped into my head: since we've collectively been doing 90's nostalgia for awhile as a culture, what's your secret/stealth best 90's album? not something necessarily widely super critically beloved but is nonetheless great and defining for you?

JMU threw for 290 yards last week and still made this list because their passing attack was MIA for so much of the year.

BTW - in the same game, they kept the other Sun Belt team on this list, Louisiana, from reaching 50 rushing yards.
Which teams have the largest difference in rush yards per game vs pass yards per game?

this is the most like a mike tyson's punch out guy i have ever seen anyone look
Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick making an intense face as he prepares to throw the ball
Matt Olson and Nick Allen named Gold Glove finalists, but not Michael Harris II. To be fair, I'm not sure he deserves to be above PCA, Victor Scott II, or Jacob Young.
ICYMI...my look at the outfield plus a little on defense. Cliff's notes version: Acuña needs to stay healthy, MH2 needs to finally evolve as a hitter, Profar needs to stay clean, and I'm okay with not signing a DH if the Braves use it as a revolving position to keep everyone else healthy.
Sickness and other crap can't keep me down - completely. Today, let's dive into the outfield and DH. On the surface, the outfield looks set, but improvement is needed. What will the Braves do at DH is a bigger question.
Offseason Preview 3/5 - The Outfield/DH
The starters are in place. Can they stay in the lineup and produce is another question.

Plus having to watch Alonso run.

Listen, it may not be on the same level as contracts that hamstring teams for years, but I still think it's really bad.
I mean, we could...

Man, Penn State has certainly had an eventful run since Turning Point passed out all those "Freedom" shirts for the white out.
The choice to neuter aggressive man-to-man corners with constant soft zone was certainly one direction to go, Cowboys.

Are the Colts warming up by playing Red Rover or something
Soft Dallas defense being soft again.
That's cute.
After taking a short-term contract from the #Mets last winter, Pete Alonso is aiming for a seven-year pact in his return to free agency:

Dukes keep Cajuns to 288 yards of total offense (477 of own) becoming the first team in Sun Belt history to hold six straight foes under 300 yards. JMU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma the only teams in the country to not allow 300 yards (researched by Kevin Warner)
@SunBelt Football Final:
JMU 24, Louisiana 14
Knight 20 carries, 111 yards
Ellis 6 catches, 120 yards, 3 TDs
Cajuns 2-4, 1-1
Dukes 5-1, 3-0
Still not enough alcohol to re-watch the 2025 Braves.
Yeesh... we see why he was released EMS...
I was hoping only there...

Sigh, JMU students. Early game, close, and you still left at half time.
