DC resident & former DCPS parent who started educationdc.net in 2015 because there was too little media coverage of public education issues in DC--and lots of right-wing ed reform propaganda about the same.

That's twenty-seven flat-out murders. That's twenty-seven lives taken without even a semblance of a legal justification under domestic or international law.

While the folks they are protecting ARE paid.

Good. Because it is a constitutional emergency.

Maybe--as is well known by someone somewhere, swearing in of Democrats is done only on the third Tuesday of a month ending in "Y" when there is a full moon waxing.

2/2 During last week's power outage on 10/9, elderly neighbor's heating system was knocked out & they had to hire repair person.

Another elderly neighbor worried about breathing machine's back-up battery.

Second power outage on Capitol Hill in a week last night. Outage map below.

Still waiting to hear back from agencies & DC leaders about last week's outage on Oct. 9.

One elderly neighbor crawled up stairs in the dark last night to phone it in.

Oh boy:

Greatest novel of the perils of the 20th century (in English) is Howard's End.

Greatest American novel is Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Greatest novelist in English is Charles Dickens.

Yep. It may be the stopped clocks right twice a day theorem in action, but it's happening.

Congress better hurry up and settle the shutdown before everyone figures out they’re nonessential personnel.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

Well, either he is this stupid; this demented; and/or this venal to make such claims about when he himself was president.
vjablow.bsky.social
Sure--as long as there is a court order in place that he is not allowed to leave said facility; be on social media; and hold any elected office.
vjablow.bsky.social
Yep--especially bc National Guard personnel of some of these states are now not IN those states but in DC, which isn't exactly going to bear the brunt of this storm.

All brought to you by the party that says it values life.

Shhhhh . . . you're upsetting the narrative.
