I think when it's all told, self-hatred is probably the biggest thing fueling any fascist movement, past, present, future.

As a therapist, I've spent so much of my life witnessing firsthand what unchecked self-hatred does to the psyche. It's not pretty.

If having a trans partner is supposedly radicalizing people into leftists, why are a huge portion of DC Republicans having sex with trans women?

They demonize trans people on socials, podcasts, and the floor of the House by day then proceed to solicit sex with them at night.

Transness is not bourgeois. This is a wedge idea dreamed up by some gleefully amoral think tank lobotomite to split trans people and make us fight each other. That we relay on modern medicine doesn't make us any more bourgeois than someone who needs antidepressants or cleft palate repair.

1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

That's fair, and yes I meant I disagreed with the general slant of the piece, not your quote in particular, which I think aligned with what I was saying.

Things are incredibly scary, but I don't think pessimism is ever our friend, and certainly we're not at the point of needing to hide ourselves.

Strong disagree w/this piece. I've had friendships and client relationships that have lasted for years where people never figured out I was trans, despite a simple Google search proving it quite readily. I don't think the dangers are zero, but in my experience the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Fenway health in Boston has stopped providing gender affirming care to trans youth.

I was previously on the board of this organization and I've never been so disgusted with their leadership cowardly capitulating like this.
