This is your basic, bog standard vanilla buttercream. It works really well with the syrupy oaty biscuit, but it needs to be a bit firmer than normal to hold it all together.

A ginormous (made in a 9-inch tin) golden crunch cream biscuit next to a regular sized one.
The execution is terrible, but the taste is off the charts good.

I might have felt like a proper wrong 'un for opening a bottle of cider at 8.15 this morning but the slow cooker pork and cider stew (with sage dumplings, obviously) that I made with it was absolutely fucking banging

The veneration of Books As Objects misses the point entirely. If you're reading a book, turn the corners down, break the spine, spill soup on it. It's your book, go nuts. A pristine, unread book is a tragedy in a way that a beloved, much-read book that looks like the dog's been at it could never be.
