It’s simple. They hate The Family and they want to destroy it, just like how they hate God.

When you say they literally think Hitler was good, people do not believe you because it sounds like Godwin’s law in action. But some of them do literally think Hitler was good.

This may seem hard to believe but a major problem with media coverage of Trump is that no matter how racist it makes these guys out to be, it’s always understating it. *Nate Hochman* told somebody I know once that Trump is way more racist than he thought. It’s real bad!

You might think Ryan is exaggerating but I used to go to a regular dinner that gradually got taken over by young Republican staffers and I promise you he is not.

My experience in right-wing world is (a) this is par for the course and (b) a bad dynamic is some of them are engaging in tasteless humor but wouldn’t actually want to hurt Jews and some of them really mean it and it’s hard to tell the difference www.politico.com/news/2025/10...

I’m drinking coffee right now—and there’s nothing these Iraq War-loving freaks can do about it.
theatlantic.com
Tariffs have rapidly increased the price of coffee—a drink with almost no nutritional value and lots of functional substitutes. Yet coffee may also be the one thing Americans can’t live without, @elcush.bsky.social writes:
The Drink That Americans Won’t Give Up Without a Fight
Coffee has almost no nutritional value and lots of substitutes. It’s also, apparently, too important to lose.

The US has tons of limits on executive power but our courts and congress won’t enforce them. (Sort of the opposite of the UK where the king fictionally has way more power but it’s forbidden for him to actually use any of it anymore.)
mthrjo.bsky.social
Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….
sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

The only thing that’s close as far as I know is that gamer in Texas who may or may not have been trying to get *** agents depending on how much you believe the reported evidence and whether you think he was a bad shot.

TRIP laws (targeted regulation of immigration police). We’re just trying to protect ICE agents from the radical left by requiring that all ICE facilities be within 15 minutes of a hospital.

Here are some pamphlets on how to emotionally deal with changes in your neighborhood. Do you need a translator? Jesus loves you BTW.
uhactually.bsky.social
We should open “immigration crisis centers” where you can work if you’re distressed about immigration and thinking of working for ICE. Call it something that also abbreviates to ICE and advertise working for ICE and then when you go to get a job we show you a video about why immigrants are good.

The notion that those who took part in slavery or conquest were merely abiding by the moral standards of their time necessary excludes those they targeted and kidnapped from those standards; *they* were never confused about this. But other white people were frequently disgusted by this stuff too!
pedsortho.bsky.social
Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
But too many of the slaves died in captivity. And so Columbus, desperate to pay back dividends to those who had in-vested, had to make good his promise to fill the ships with gold. In the province of Cicao on Haiti, where he and his men imagined huge gold fields to exist, they ordered all persons fourteen years or older to collect a certain quantity of gold every three months. When they brought it, they were given copper tokens to hang around their necks. Indians found without a copper token had their hands cut off and bled to death.
The Indians had been given an impossible task. The only gold around was bits of dust garnered from the streams. So they fled, were hunted down with dogs, and were killed. After each six or eight months' work in the mines, which was the time required of each crew to dig enough gold for melting, up to a third of the men died.
While the men were sent many miles away to the mines, the wives remained to work the soil, forced into the excruciating job of digging and making thousands of hills for cassava plants.
Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or ten months and when they met they were so exhausted and depressed on both sides... they ceased to pro-create. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and fam-ished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7000 children died in three months. Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desper-ation.... In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk ... and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fer-tile... was depopulated... My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write....

There are no “normies”. It’s 2025. Everyone is online. My 80-something grandma gets all her news from YouTube. This stuff is just dumb.
uhactually.bsky.social
Every day I’m more convinced that “normies” are the Baileys (the imaginary Long Island couple that lives in Chuck Schumer’s head) for people who grew up spending all their time online. Stop thinking in these stereotypes, they are not useful.

The last No Kings in Chicago was like 90 percent older female protest veterans who've been derided as normie lib wine moms for the past decade so maybe we could start nagging, like, "woodworking dads" or find a way to condescend to 30-year-old men for a goddamn change.
