Mint is Debian based so the package versions won't be the latest and greatest. But that's the price you pay for stability.

I'd say stick with Mint and make it work. Unless you need to be on the bleeding edge for some reason. As long as the available in the repository. And if they aren't, there are workarounds, like Flatpak.

Fuck this book.
I hadn't read any Alan Moore in years and thought I'd check out his take on Lovecraft, see where he was as an author. It's not a good place.
He's still thinks rape is essential story element. More than ever, because this story has back-to-back graphic rape scenes.
Not recommended.
