LGBT+ Liberal Democrats condemn our party's decision to base internal gender quotas on sex assigmed at birth.

This trans-exclusionary decision is an attack on one of the most vulnerable groups in our society.

Reform aren't going to be able to win an FPTP election if 36% for "generally not racist" & 46% for "generally racist", however fair or unfair perceptions of racist/ not racist are

They did well to get 36% in Caerphilly but this is a big part of why they mobilise opponents (Plaid 47% Reform 36%)

Almost nobody in the Cons Party or beyond it had noticed that the Shadow Home Secretary with two other frontbenchers and 5 backbenchers tabled a bill in May to deport 3 million people - stripping almost every pensioner, parent or nurse who did not take out citizenship of their right to live here

Read my two letters to the #UK:
1. Protests: I call for a review of the legal framework and the reconsideration of provisions in the Crime & Policing Bill that could restrict freedom of assembly.
2. Trans people: I warn against exclusion&zero-sum approaches

My first thought was “wow I hope this guy didn’t give out his name because he could absolutely be charged” and yup, he is correct to stay anonymous.

This man’s account is shocking. His neighbors’ situation is shocking. The entire Chicago raid is shocking.
A second own goal for the Online Safety Act after last week’s Discord users’ ID hack.

More people are using VPNs so of course hackers are touting free VPNs that are actually malware.

It’s time to call it the Online Harm Act.

A recent report on the Klopatra malware operation shows hackers taking advantage of a surge in VPN use.

Remember when Nigel Farage said, 'If we vote to Remain on June 23rd, it will be the end of the steel industry in this country. It's as simple as that.'

Now we all know Brexit’s to blame for the crisis facing UK steel – it’s time for politicians to be honest and reverse it

With British industry faltering, the excuse that the public wants this is risible. Parliament must force Starmer to act, says Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins

Adding to the list of "why to not have online voting".

Private companies' incentives rarely align with the needs of voting systems in general, and this highlights risks of their owners not being impartial.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

If you can't see how this will end, then you're not paying attention (not least to what's going on on the other side of the Atlantic).
In the era of state-sponsored attacks on critical infrastructure, it's just not worth it. I wrote about this last year: tomm.org/2024/no-to-o...

Here's how I do mine: tomm.org/2022/prepari...

It's changed a bit since then as I've added Google Drive and email backups to the mix, which I'll write about soon.

That didn't take long, did it. Who'd have thought that badly-implemented age verification would backfire with data breaches of users' provided ID.

Brace yourselves for many more of these, fraudsters are going to have a field day.
NEW: breach of Discord age verification data.

Including some users passports & DLs

Age verification is a badly implemented data grab wrapped in a moral panic.

Mark my words, as age verification mandates expand, we'll end up more surveilled and less secure. 1/
