If you personally insult me, I will tell you, and mute you for a random duration. If you persist, it's a block.

I tend to follow far too many people. Every now and then I cull a RANDOM selection for my sanity. If I unfollow you, this is why - it's not personal.
Pritzker: "Stephen Miller is clearly ordering people to break the law. So he should know that yeah, it may be three years from now that he is held accountable, but I think it's important for them to know that whatever they do now, it's not like we're going to forget."
Those are Trump numbers.
In hindsight he would have been amazing. 8 years of Bernie magic. So close. Ah well.
Chris Murphy remains a bastion of intelligent directness.
I wonder if LLMs can correctly nest parentheses, or if it has the same trouble it has with counting fingers. In which case...

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

11 Q. So how did you get yourself started into submersible
12 operations?
13
A.
Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic.
When I
14
set down the path to make that film, the first thing that I did
15
was arrange to be introduced to the head of the submersible
16
program at the P.P. Shirshov Institute in Moscow, a guy named
17|
Professor
I. I did that through a mutual friend
18
of ours, a guy named
, who is one of the preeminent
underwater cinematographers in the world. And had been on a
20
submersible expedition out to Titanic the previous year with the
21
Russians. And that was organized by a Canadian company that was
22 doing an IMAX film which was released under the title Titanica.
It seems like they see an out-of-control president/wormtongue, they've resigned themselves to massively losing the next election, and they just want a quiet life to collect their fundraising grift and not attract the ire of the White House by stepping out of line. What levers will they respond to?
It's unclear how anyone (including Mike Johnson) can stop Trump/Miller. They'll just continue to steal the funds and fire people. I guess an impeachment might actually do it, but how would you motivate the GOP to do that - they don't care about governing or even power - they shut the machine down!
The problem is that any agreement between the GOP and the Dems to reopen the government is worthless because even if the GOP actually kept to their word (which has never happened before), Trump/Miller would just overrule them and do something illegal anyway. And both parties know this.
Well sure except for trying to shake Zelenskyy down for Javelins, back when nobody knew what "Zelenskyy" and "Javelins" were. He got impeached for it!
This is indeed unbelievable.

This is why it’s impossible to negotiate with Republican leadership in Congress. Once you reach an agreement with them and things pass, the Trump admin just flushes that agreement down the toilet and Republicans who made the deal remain silent. bsky.app/profile/atru...
THUNE: Fund the government the old fashioned way -- I don't think you need rescissions

VITALI: Have you said to the WH, maybe don't do another rescissions package? Feels like it's poisoned the well

THUNE: It's in everybody's best interest, including the WH, to do a normal appropriations process
As you can see by the patch on his arm, he serves for the YVANSU
Even back then he was notorious for just repeating what the last person who talked to him said. The difference now is Stephen Miller makes sure that person was him.

"What do you want an elephant for?"

"I don't. I just wish I had the money."
Same. Watched 99% of Ian's vids - fascinating stuff. I've been in the army - I've shot all sorts of things. Guns make you feel amazing. But they're like tanks and fighter planes - I love the mechanics of them, but they're insanely dangerous, and nobody should have one - certainly not me!
