I think isolation is an essential element of horror, and financial insecurity, resource deprivation, social exclusion etc. go hand-in-hand with isolation. I end up writing a lot of characters who are trapped in situations because they just cannot afford to escape them. #HorrorWritersChat

They are dangerously close to foreclosing on their house and can't even get a callback from the hospital. Any donations to at least keep them housed while we try to find SOME kind of solution would be a literal lifesaver.

Y'all this situation is fucked. See the newest update. The hospital canceled a necessary surgery without even providing a price quote, and the so-called advocacy team is not responsive. I am looking for resources that can help. Please drop ideas in this thread and boost this. Give if you can.

When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

We are actually in an era where the government is utilizing it's power to censor people and punish them for their speech, and yet it feels like the free speech cries from the 2010s when people were just mad about being called out on twitter were way louder than the cries now.

Do I have any journalist friends in Georgia? I've got a tip on a pretty horrifying way a friend has been treated (or not treated) by Emory hospital and I think it's time to get the media involved because they are not responding to the established channels for patient advocacy.
