I’ve been re-reading the old Lensman novels. They GENERALLY hold up, well, ok-ish, and are fairly entertaining. The setting would be fun to revisit with a few updates. Might have to write some fan fiction that no living human will ever see.

Christopher Columbus was a profoundly evil genocidal piece of shit, and if hell is real, I hope he is roasting there slowly in a vat of boiling acid. He was so horrible other European explorer types and the church were like "Whoa motherfucker can you not?"

Also, @rickbrannan.com, I pulled down a copy of The Apostolic Constitutions from Appian Way’s github the other day - I’m really looking forward to reading it after I finish the books I got from the library. (Spoiler: I probably won’t wait, I’ll just work it in somehow.)

I’m a real conflict between my desire to stay informed and my desire to not get overwhelmed. I’ve been pretty conscientious about not following doom-and-gloom accounts, but there’s just SO MUCH. I may need to just stop the social media altogether for a while.

Jonathan Ajayi and Adarsh Gourav are fantastic. Timothy Olyphant is also excellent as Kirsh. Really, though, good performances all around.

Also, as I've said before, if anyone makes a Discworld movie or series based on the City Watch, Adrian Edmondson is the only choice for Willikins.

One of the BEST parts of Alien: Earth is watching the actors playing kids in adult bodies. They did SO WELL, especially Smee and Lightly's interactions. They are so convincing as a pair of tween dorks who instantly became best buddies.
