I think there'd been a big show of his recently and we talked about how one or two Pettibon pics seen in isolation was better than seeing dozens in a room together where they became kind of bland non sequiturs. Anyways, random memory and association. The table was cool as hell.

Write the book you would like to see someone pull from a higgledy piggledy pile in a secondhand shop 63 years after your death and say, "This looks fucking weird. I think I will buy it for Joan."

Apparently tonight's dinner is pie filling.

Sliced apples and a mango, mixed with a dap of butter and cinnamon, then baked 10 minutes, flipped, and baked 10 more minutes... now curious why I never did this before.

If this was in an NYC building around Wall Street, I might have helped you work on this. You advertised on an old web forum for help...NerdNYC? You talked about Raymond Pettibon wjile spritzing the table with watered down glue. If not, it's cool all the same.

An ongoing thread of short story collections coming in 2026, of work weird/surreal/dark/uncanny/unsettling/ghostly/ghastly, across genres, so that they're all in one place that I can refer back to when I inevitably forget what books I was meaning to request review copies of:

“Ok yeah so what you have to understand is the reason the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Venezuela this weekend is because of a major misreading of a key plot point from Dan Abnett’s Horus Rising, yeah kinda sucks doesn’t it”

This is such a clever idea on taking kids to museums/galleries
www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...
Nadia from London has an idea that sounds such fun you'll be booking a day out asap.
"I've always loved museums," she says,
"but they can be overwhelming for children. For decades now, I've done something called 'playing postcards'
We do
the museum backwards, visiting the gift shop first. Each child gets to choose three postcards. Then they take it in turns to find that particular artwork in the museum and give us a little information about the piece from the details on the postcard, or from any gallery plaque. At the end of this treasure-hunt-style activity, we vote for our favourite in the cafe."

If you think you know why US newspapers died, this feature documentary now streaming for free on PBS might surprise you. It wasn't the Internet. Newspapers were specifically targeted by vulture capitalists.

I composed the score for the film, which features electric cello & Crowfoot guitars.
Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink
A handful of journalists rebel against a hedge fund that is gutting newspapers nationwide.

Is there a split between Revolutionary War buffs and Civil War buffs? Like are they the same type of person or are they different and how are they different from WW2 buffs? Or is it just a matter of geography and being into whatever war happened local to you long ago?

Time for more occasional self-promotion

This one is a free/pwyw solo game. It's an RPG point crawl but played in the browser. It was an experiment around writing games in markdown.

The cat monk drives the car, the wizard hates herself, and the defrocked sun priest gave her plasma rifle a name. That's a circa 2010 Dan Abnett storyline if ever there was one.
