He certainly passed away as a wiser man. I believe he probably did his best with what he “believed”, as opposed to what he “knew”, but either way as far as misguided RW conservatives go, he was better than the cruel destructive white collar criminals of the National Party today. Rest. 🕊️ #nzpol

Doubleplus ungood.

Uni Councils aren't supposed to get involved in curriculum design, either. That's not what governance is about.

Looks like Academia in Aotearoa isn’t as robustly independent as one might have hoped…🤬🤨 #Wtaf #nzpol #TangataTiriti #OneTermGovernment #AcademicIndependence #Aotearoa #NewZealand

This not an appropriate decision for the council to make. It’s the purview of the Academic Board. But political/business appointments to councils make it all but inevitable.

Noisy over-priced shopping malls/food courts. And those bright advertising screens and unintelligible announcements.

I spent an afternoon last week waiting for a delayed flight in Wellington and thinking about airport design. Most are a crime against humanity. Worse that for $1000 a year you can buy somewhere pleasant to wait.

Airports are such strange places that seem to exist outside of reality. Why did this cost me $15? We will never truly know…

I can’t think of anyone in that caucus who would make a better leader.
That’s not an endorsement.

My cartoon in today's www.thepress.co.nz/nz-news/3608...

The Scream is a metaphor for nature & Munch was the receptor for its pain. Here he is, so overwhelmed he's taking time out of the painting only to find more pain in the news...

#NzPol #PoliticalCartoon #ClimateChange #EdvardMunch
Cartoon. Title: Government almost halves methane reduction targets...

We see the Scream, from Edvard Munch's most famous works of art, collapsed in a wingback armchair.

He had stepped out of the painting to take a break from the chaos. The metaphor of the artwork is of natures pain and how he had actually felt it.

But sadly he's entered into a world that is chaotic and deliberately trying to hurt Mother Earth even more.

He has a newspaper slowly sliding out from his hand with the title - Farmers Rejoice.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

I swear to god some people think if you study "STEM" you sit silently in a room calculating how many people to kill. Why do people think science is taught in the total absence of any humanity or empathy? How much outrageous violence has been done to the world in the same of economics, philosophy,

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏

I'm interested in potential speciation in fish introduced in AoNZ. We have a number of self-introduced bird species in the last few centuries. What about fish that speciate as a product of their environment? The edges of "nativeness" are fuzzy.

A new species of trout, Salmo epimolos, coexists with & is morphologically distinct from introduced brown trout S. trutta in a Pennsylania creek. It likely reflects reproductive isolation & divergence from a founder population of brown trout established since 1886 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
