The entire town is run by the good ole boys network. Abbott is part of that. Right after the Uvalde incident, Abbott was the first one on the stage where the press gathered and sung the praises of law enforcement that allowed 17 kids to die. Texas government is filled with corruption.

Your posts also evinced a clear misunderstanding of how the bill worked. They Misunderstood the difference between increasing costs and decreasing growth rates in costs (second derivative), and willfully ignored that the increase in costs also delivered a massive expansion in coverage.

The White House keeps making a big deal of the fact that the ballroom is privately funded but that’s one of the worst things about it.

These people and companies are buying influence. None of this is okay.

FACT: Presidents have been renovating and expanding the White House for more than 100 years.
In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt built the West Wing.
In 1909, President William Howard Taft added the first Oval Office during a West Wing expansion.

Cornyn was the deciding vote on the “Big Ugly Bill” — kicking millions off their healthcare to give his billionaire donors a tax cut.

I'm tired. We're all tired. This isn't hard to understand. You can't inflate prices of basic necessities like food and housing to ridiculous highs while keeping wages at poverty levels, then act surprised when luxury goods/services and large purchases become unattainable or payments unaffordable.

Part of the reason this struck me is that I've had my head in the 1960s DOJ for a while.

The DOJ press secretary back then was a Pulitzer Prize winner who'd been reporting for twenty years (except when he was winning medals in WWII).
