AHS has always been wildly inconsistent, but it was still entertaining early on. I wanna say Hotel was the last great season. 1984 was the last good season. Double feature was mid AF. NYC was trash, and by then I was over it.

One thing I wanna say is that much of what made D'Angelo so great is that he understood he was part of a continuum, a legacy, a lineage of great Black music across the generations. He named, revered, studied the greats who preceded him, then figured out how to take their work several steps further.

William F. Buckley, Jr pivoted to supporting segregation abroad after getting washed by James Baldwin in that debate. He had plenty of company in that endeavor in conservatism for decades afterwards. Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Jerry Falwell, Dick Cheney, & Ronald Reagan are just a few names.
