Nice to see the mainstream media finally saying this out loud. Feel like I’ve been screaming this headline underwater for almost a year.

Thank you for highlighting. I have a trans kid and our family has talked about moving if the UCP wins the next election. We are lucky our child is 19 so not yet directly impacted. But please do not forget that UCP party policy suggests a full bathroom ban is coming next.

Albertans — Do you miss Smith's Alberta Next videos and town halls?
If you attended a town hall or completed the Alberta Next survey and felt it wasn’t neutral, you can file a Procedural Fairness & Transparency Complaint with the Alberta Ombudsman.
If an event or survey feels political, confusing, or unclear about who’s behind it — that’s not public input, that’s misrepresentation.
📢 Every single submission counts.
Each Albertan’s complaint becomes its own oversight file — and that’s what triggers action.

Dear Alberta Ombudsman,
I am submitting a formal complaint under the Ombudsman Act (RSA 2000, c. O-8, s. 12(1)) regarding the administration of the Alberta Next Panel public consultation process.
The Alberta Next initiative was presented as a neutral, government-led consultation on Alberta’s future. However, the process appeared inconsistent and confusing, raising concerns about procedural fairness, transparency, and compliance with Section 3.1 of the Government of Alberta Communications Policy, which requires all communications to be “factual, objective, and free from political bias.” Dear Alberta Ombudsman,
I am submitting a formal complaint under the Ombudsman Act (RSA 2000, c. O-8, s. 12(1)) regarding the administration of the Alberta Next Panel public consultation process.
The Alberta Next initiative was presented as a neutral, government-led consultation on Alberta’s future. However, the process appeared inconsistent and confusing, raising concerns about procedural fairness, transparency, and compliance with Section 3.1 of the Government of Alberta Communications Policy, which requires all communications to be “factual, objective, and free from political bias.”
Participants were not clearly informed who designed or oversaw the engagement, whether it was independent or politically directed, or how personal information and input would be used. These gaps undermined informed participation and public trust.
I respectfully request that your office review whether the Alberta Next process:
• met recognized standards of fairness, transparency, and impartiality expected in public consultations;
• provided clear and accurate information to participants about its purpose and oversight; and
• used government branding or communications in ways that could mislead the public about its neutrality.
I also ask that your office review publicly available media coverage, recordings, or meeting minutes from Alberta Next town halls to determine whether the format, facilitation, or messaging met the principles of fair and open engagement.
Please confirm receipt of this complaint and advise if further details are required.
Sincerely,
(Your Name)

📁 Attach a photo or note where the event took place if you can — firsthand proof helps.
A large number of similar complaints can trigger a systemic Ombudsman investigation, which could:
⚖️ Expose how the Alberta Next panel was actually run
⚖️ Discredit its results publicly
⚖️ Force new fairness and transparency standards for public consultations

“What did the NDP ever do for Alberta?”

In the middle of an oil crash, they raised wages, improved worker protections, capped emissions, expanded parks, banned corporate donations & built the Calgary Cancer Centre.

Competence over ideology.

#cdnpoli #abpoli The point of Project 2025 embraced by the UCP & other Canadians using the conservative brand is cruelty. It is an anti-Christian agenda put out by "ravening wolves" seeking personal wealth & power hiding behind the name Christian. "By their fruits will you know them."
"And now, Alberta is becoming cruel...It tells us that the rich are “job creators” instead of modern-day feudal lords. It convinces us that we should slash the social safety net so that those who need it most are punished for being born poor, disabled or unlucky."

Subject: Support Submission – File No. 2025-0213 (Alberta Next Panel)
Dear Chief Electoral Officer,
I am writing as an Alberta resident to support the complaint under File No. 2025-0213 regarding the Alberta Next Panel.
During 2025, both the Government of Alberta and the United Conservative Party (UCP) promoted surveys branded as “Alberta Next.” The existence of a parallel, party-operated survey closely mirroring the government’s official consultation raises serious questions about whether public resources, communications staff, or web infrastructure were used to benefit a political organization.
I personally experienced confusion or issues while completing the survey process. [Add one or two sentences describing what happened and add any support documents or screenshots if you have any.]
I ask your office to review whether the survey’s administration or communications used public resources in a way that created partisan or misleading outcomes.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

💡 Why It Matters
✅ It only takes a minute to make your experience count.
✅ Oversight offices act on evidence — not comments.
✅ The more first-hand accounts they receive, the stronger the case for accountability.
🗣 This isn’t about politics.
It’s about making sure every public process in Alberta is transparent, fair, and accountable. If something felt off — now’s your chance to put it on the record.
✅ Keep it respectful, factual, and focused on accountability.
This isn’t about politics — it’s about protecting public trust and ensuring Alberta’s processes stay fair.

Yikes is right! This is gross, scary and un-Canadian.

What next, ICE in Canada?

No wonder my CPC MP won’t tell me if they are connected to anti-immigration hate groups or not.🤔
