also, while I still think of Minnie Driver as a movie star, her TV contributions, in Will & Grace, and in the underappreciated About a Boy and even more underappreciated Speechless should be praised.
let it be reminded that there was a The Phantom of the Opera movie and Minnie Driver understood the assignment.
As expected, Minnie Driver was brilliant in Every Brilliant Thing. And rediscovering how brilliant Duncan Macmillan's play Every Brilliant Thing is.

Also mesmerizing to watch Minnie Driver work the audience and work with the audience. Forgot how much audience interaction there is. Brilliant!

Here for Every Brilliant Thing, this time with Minnie Driver.

(I remember loving it with Jonny Donahoe in NYC, who just finished his run here, tho only remember something about the audience with pieces of paper).

UK (or Irish) (or if you think of it, any non-American) boyband never broke through to NA really. Take That got one song as a hit but didn't. Nor Boyzone, Westlife, or the many others.
Was just screaming this into the my screen reading that rn.
I thought The Corrs broke out a bit in NA briefly? Westlife never really did but seems to have a small following (me). Though their recent NA tour in Toronto sold out 3 nights so fast.

"Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway."

... because they're not THAT worried.
POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

ok finally watched Pixar's Elio and... it was cute but I guess this was the one that cut any hint of LGBTQ+? Cause it definitely felt like it was supposed to be something more.

I won't elaborate on what I hope becomes of Sam Altman, but I do believe if we band together and work hard enough, we can make HIS job the one that becomes obsolete.
don't worry, Sam Altman is confident that his efforts to eliminate vast numbers of jobs will all just sort of work out for the unemployed, eventually, possibly after they starve to death, which is technically a form of having it work out

Sam Altman Says If Jobs Gets Wiped Out, Maybe They Weren't Even "Real Work" to Start With
Worried that AI will destroy work? Well, Sam Altman asks if you've considered what a farmer from half a century ago thinks of your job, first.

I love watching Americans in non-Engliah speaking countries in stores where the worker basically has the look of "you can fuck right off, you are not right"
few ideas have damaged the average psyche more than ‘the customer is always right.’ it should be a little bit humiliating, being a customer. you should walk into any service transaction knowing that the other person, and not you, is in control over whether you get your treats

Honestly, it needs to go further than this.

We need to confront the fact that democracy and wealth hoarding cannot coexist. Allowing people to amass the resources of a small state/country allows them to act as such, which is inimical to a shared society of “one person, one vote.”
“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.
Elon Musk calls for US troops to be sent to San Francisco for war on drugs: ‘It’s the only solution’
I don't really want to quite believe the news about Diane Keaton.
I've caught up with the first 2 eps of The Traitors Celebrity UK and I've seen Alan Carr on Graham Norton and other shows before but now I can't get enough. But also, we're almost the same age? WHAT? I thought he was way older.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button the Musical is not just the best Brisith musical in decades. It's easily the best British musical, and one of the best musicals period.

Seeing it back in January, wondered if I just saw the best show of 2025 already, and now seeing it on the last day, it def is.

For some reason I thought John Dalgleish had left the show (for an injury) but missed the news he had returned. I was looking forward to seeing his replacement but was also ELATED to see him reprise his Olivier winning role as Benjamin Button.

This whole cast though. Just THE BEST.

I"M BACK! BACK AT THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON THE MUSICAL ON THE LAST DAY OF PERFORMANCES AT THE AMBASSADOR THEATRE.
I STILL CANT BELIEVE I SNAGGED A RUSH TICKET FOR TODAY AFTER TRYING FOR A MONTH.

not on purpose but had way less coffees in the last month... and have had the worst sleeps in the last month. (otoh also maybe crossing time zones twice each week has not helped (not that I didn't do that before either since it's my life)).
OMFG AFTER TRYING EVERY WEEK AND OF COURSE NOW IN THIS LAST MONTH EVERYONE IS FINALLY SEEING BENJAMIN BUTTON SO PRICES HAVE BEEN SKY HIGH... I MANAGED TO GET A RUSH TICKET ON THE LAST DAY OF PERFORMANCES! NEVER GIVE UP!!! (and it was at 10:05am so someone must have let that ticket slip through)
Def worth seeing. The Broadway cast looks great! (LOVE Victoria Clark though she seems to give a different sensibility to the casting in London)
wait, that Caissie Levy, Paul Alexander Nolan casting in The Lost Boys musical was THAT The Lost Boys?!??!!
Not everything needs to be a musical.
Based on the hit 1987 vampire movie starring Kiefer Sutherland, the musical just announced its opening date and main cast.
Punch was great and obviously the subject matter is intense and fascinating. The play is slick. Though, maybe a tad too slick? It's again, very James Graham-ish. Polished and hits all the spots, if maybe a tad too spot-on at times?!

Superb original cast lead by David Shields as Jacob.

Saw Punch.
In the West End. Tho I also noticed is running on Broadway. Has a new play started on Bway and West End at the same time like this before? It can't be the first, can it? (Tho this is a transfer from Nottingham via Young Vic)
