Full disclosure I did do a bit of Pritzker simping despite not living in Illinois and not knowing much bout him, because I felt he was at least trying to take a stand. Didn't know he was a billionaire or that about his brother. I'll adapt accordingly in future.

Very sad to see NBC Out go down. I know journalists who have worked there and it was home to some of the best in depth reporting on LGBTQ+ issues out there from a legacy media outlet.

Legacy media continues to abandon us, and it seems only we can tell our own stories these days.

The medication stockpile bill is the bill I had pegged this year as the most important kind of bill to pass given federal threats, with a short time window to make it happen. Washington passed the same bill earlier this year.

It's so shameful for Newsom to veto this bill.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

This is the line. It's the line that got me to tear up as I was watching it. It was the line that FINALLY made me felt seen by a Democratic politician. This is the line that connects everything Democrats claim to fight for with trans rights. Trans issues aren't this shameful thing that Democratic consultants suggest we hide from, it's the same fight undocumented immigrants are fighting, or those who can't access health care are fighting. Sometimes the undocumented immigrants and the people who can't afford health care are also trans.

Political issues aren't siloes, they're all connected, and Mamdani recognizes that. Other Democrats need to see it too, and I hope they are paying attention.

I think the reason a lot of people hold on to porn addiction as a thing, beyond puritanism, is its a shorthand for them to "I have/had a mental illness or other thing negatively impacting me, I used porn/masturbation to fill the days and distract myself, and I've misunderstood the cause/effect here"

Just one billion is more than enough for one lifetime I'd argue it's already way past excessive. I don't truly know how I'd be able to hoard that much wealth. My idea of rich is so skewed though that admittedly my idea of a wealthy life is 100k a year per household member.
