Based on this DNA evidence, as well as oral history and other documentation, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello concluded in 2000 that Jefferson was the father of at least Eston Hemings and most likely all of Hemings’s children. This overturned decades of denial by many historians. /7
