I read the piece. You shouldn't. He dismisses the "No Kings" protests as liberals in blue cities. He invokes Rosa Parks, as if rural white people in the 60s loved everything that the movement then was doing. "We need a movement but not this one" is a core centrist tact these days.

The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.

I just had a convo. with an IT worker whose employer is forcing *each* employee to consume 600k tokens *per day*
Krieger said that usage metrics may be a company's best bet. "People do not use tools over and over again every day if they're not providing value," he said.

Super interesting analysis:

- Two-thirds of Nigerian IMO alumni (2006-2021) now live and work outside Nigeria
- 60% work in tech/engineering at companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Bloomberg
- Half earned master’s or PhD degrees, mostly in STEM fields

I remember the surprise of a young whity when I went to Paris to pass the tests for a "Grande Ecole", he was like "Oh, you have the right to be here?"
Or the head of sales at my 1st work party drunkenly telling me "Hey, I don't like black people, but I like you because you do good work"

I don’t know how to approach “Republicans weren’t racist in the early aughts” as someone who went to Texas during the early aughts and had to debate whether or not Black students were “stealing” people’s spots in class.

I‘m staring at this post like I was a Black student in the 90s and 2000s and had to share a campus with racist Young Republicans

My parents' generation was super racist, but they took pains to hide it from us. So a lot of young conservatives in the 90s and early aughts were earnest small government and/or evangelical types.

As I said, the overt racists and radicals had to form their own orgs.

Agent lobs a gas canister into a residential neighborhood in Illinois for no discernible reason, gassing dozens of neighbors including a baby. The comfort with which they deploy weapons of war is unreal.
