Arrived in the US yesterday evening with my absentee ballot for the city council in my hometown in Michigan all voted and ready to send off.

Popped it in the mailbox today here in suburban Chicago.

VOTE! #vote

✅ 🗳️ 🙋‍♀️
Vote in every election. In the US, the next election is less than 3 weeks away. Lots of local offices, like mayors, are in the race. EVERY ELECTION MATTERS. Get ready to USE YOUR VOICE and CAST YOUR BALLOT.

🌿 We're thrilled that The Garden of Cosmic Speculation in Dumfries has become a designated landscape, following assessment by Historic Environment Scotland and support from C20. Developed gradually between 1988-2012 by Charles & Maggie Jencks, the garden is a work of outstanding artistic importance.

Time to find the archive with old issues of parish and diocesan newsletters...
Not so familiar with German examples, but have heard of houses being used as prizes for fundraising raffles by churches in Chicago in the 50s / 60s.

Keine Ahnung, hört sich aber irgendwie wie Bausparkasse an.

Ungefähres Datum oder Jahrzehnt?

I offered a dissenting voice in this article about "beauty" in #architecture, though little of it got in. Essentially, I can't see why style wars should wang on self-promotingly through a climate emergency.

I put the case here too:

Who should decide what makes a building beautiful?
Everyone agrees that we need more homes, and fast — and that we want them to look good. But who should be the judge: architects, governments or the general public?

This looks great 👇👇, and also there is an open-access version of the 400-page exhibition catalog online, for those of us sadly unable to travel and see the objects displayed in person: books.ub.uni-heidelberg.de//arthistoric... #medievalsky

Believe it or not, Bernini prepared plans for this exterior revetment in Siena in connection with renovations done under Alexander VII.

His design remained unexecuted. You can read about it in Chapter 9 of our book!
