A monstrous scaled spider-woman. Her limbless torso rises from where a spider's mouth would be, and all the eight limbs of the spider are elongated, white and gangly, ending in fully functional seven-fingered hands. The head of the monster has incredibly long, white straight silken hair, falling in front of her. The woman has a hybrid face between human, insect and reptilian, with six visible eyes, mandibles around the sharp-teethed mouth, and two curved horns rising to the side of the head, one horn slightly longer than the other.
Behind the spider-woman, the black starry sky, with a waning(waxing?) crescent moon above the spider-witch, framed in a hole at the centre of a massive spiderweb. The picture is completely black and white with the exception of the spiderweb, which is red, slightly fleshy, and irregular. The spider-witch raises two of her limbs to the moon behind her as if she can reach or grasp it, while two other limbs stroke her hair.

A colored sketch of a sword babe leaning on a closely-held greatsword almost as tall as she is. Piercing green eyes stare out at the viewer and voluminous hair cascades down her front and back covering up more of her than her meager clothes: a thin loincloth and a slip of fabric over her chest fastened with leather loops. Behind her is a wispy watercolor-looking background in blue and grey.

The piece was sketched with pencil and colored with a mix of watered down acrylic inks and black tea, some final lines picked out with a felt-tip pen. Though little reference was used for the pose, the face is modeled off of Neri from trueref.io.

Needed to take a break from the crunch to do some art practice. Coloring was done with watered-down acrylic inks and black tea (the latter in many layers). I sketched the pose but the face is modeled on Neri from @trueref.bsky.social

I get that it has a poor opening, but anyone who still thinks Daikatana is the "worst game ever" definitely hasn't played it. There's some really cool stuff going on in that game, and the worst parts have mostly been fixed by fan patches.

Really? This whole time I thought it was because it was an OpenGL port of ZDoom, and everything in OpenGL uses that gl* prefix. Maybe that's just how he managed to sneak it in!

Took a detour to add some frustum culling, there was literally no occlusion checking at all before. Just culling out offscreen debris and enemy animation blending has made enough of a difference for my aging machine to still manage 144Hz for all the important encounters. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev

Ctesiphon is partly a forever-home for a handful of maps I made in Quake 3 and UT2004 many years ago. This here is my high-school masterpiece, the Fortress of Baal. I'm blocking out its new incarnation as a casino, making the final map of the game before the final boss fight on the roof. #gamedev

I've just uploaded a new demo build to Steam and Itch containing the third level. For now I expect this to be the last update to the demo before release. Autosaves made in v1.01 will let you continue where you left off.

Did a refactor of the audio system today and added a proper association between sound clips and source entities such that staggering, killing, or gibbing an enemy can interrupt sound effects they've spawned. #gamedev #indiedev

I totally didn't design around playing this with a controller, so as a compromise there's an option for aim-assist when using one. Just done by sending out some detection rays like in classic Doom. #gamedev #indiedev

I'm a bit late for Screenshot Saturday, but I've put together a much-requested feature. This screen will log any important dialog in the level so you can go back and re-read it in case it came up in the middle of a firefight. #gamedev #indiedev
