Can't remember if I shared this here, but here's the first 2 minutes of Stranger & The Strange, my weird west animated short I'm working on in my off hours.

Thus far the fights against other Weavers have been all of my favorite fights.

First Sinner is by far my favorite boss fight of the game so far, though I also really liked the Lace fight.

One of the few boss fights where the challenge just didn't bother me.

Honestly a huge part of it was not having to do a runback.

I think Silksong would be like 25% better if I could map tools to the d-pad instead having so many things mapped to RB.

It's so easy to use a silk ability when I wanted to use a tool or vice-versa. Even 40 hours in it happens constantly. ESPECIALLY in a fast boss fight.

It's one of those books where I absolutely can get into dissecting it, and I think that's likely why English teachers love it. It's fun to analyze.

But god did I hate reading it.

I wonder if I'd be more likely to even remotely like The Great Gatsby if I hadn't been forced to read it in high school.

I'm also endlessly angry that the search feature has become so terrible on YouTube.

You can type in the EXACT title for something you want, and they still won't show it to you.

Me: Oh hey, this very popular YouTube channel is actually pretty good

YouTube: Great! THAT'S ALL YOU WANT TO WATCH NOW, RIGHT?

Me: I still want to watch other things, too

YouTube: NO YOU DON'T.

Which isn't to say serialization is at all bad.

Good serialized shows still make every episode satisfying on their own.

I feel like Warren Ellis (him being a shit person aside for the moment) was always better when he wasn't trying very hard to be funny.

His humor was always a little too reliant on getting the laugh equivalent of a jump scare.

Is it a hot take to say I think shows designed to be binged are inherently worse than normal TV shows?

Good TV shows use the episodic format to their advantage rather than making 8-hour movies.
stephank.bsky.social
But it's also hard to remember anything about binge shows.

I've kinda stopped bothering with Netflix shows entirely because of it.

I feel like whenever I think back to it I remember standout moments more than the show itself being all that great.

Thread (read all the posts) and quite true. Just ASK animal-related groups that are local: "I'm struggling, do you know of any pet food banks/options around?" because they usually have contacts and might run one themselves.

Gentle reminder: I am seeing more "I cannot afford pet food" posts & if you might face this in the near future/now, I recommend checking your local area's subreddit and posting if anyone knows of local programs for pet food. Many areas have small under-the-radar charities that give out pet food.

In a world where most politicians won't mention trans people except to throw us under the bus, this ad from @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is honestly such a breath of fresh air.

a fake quote being attributed to zohran mamdani is igniting the pro-palestine left.

he never said arresting netanyahu would make him a trumpian fascist. that phrase was posted by an account known for using extreme rhetoric to accuse mamdani of effectively saying that as a result of him softening.
image circulating claiming to attribute a fake quote to mamdani. text reads:
dec. 2024: “as mayor of nyc i would arrest benjamin netanyahu”
sept. 2025: “arresting netanyahu would make me a trumpian fascist.” - this second quote has in big letters over it the words “fake quote.” post from the originator of the phrase. text reads:

@zei squirrel
here you have it side by side. Zohran in December 2024, when he was running in the primary, pledging that he will definitely arrest Netanyahu. Then fast forward to Zohran in September 2025, after he won the primary, and suddenly arresting Netanyahu makes you a Trumpian fascist:

I've never really worked out what it says about Dragon Ball that the highest authority in all of existence is an evil child who destroys entire universes on a whim.
