Hey so PSA to anyone following me looking for donations to a fundraiser:

I am on disability, I have a fixed income, and I can barely afford to feed myself :D
Christ my parents still keep their house at lizard terrarium temperatures and I am melting in my childhood home
Had dinner with my parents in my childhood home. Now back in my hotel ready to pretty much feel over from exhaustion. I travel so infrequently that I forget how tiring it is.
Minnesota is my home now, but there's just something about desert canyons carved by rivers with probably Spanish names that tells me I'm about to get back to my roots.
My rule is to never mock anything a person has no control over. If they CHOOSE to look like that, well...

This is why I won't fat shame but I will mock Mar A Lago face. That was a choice.
It doesn't matter how despicable a person is, mocking their innate physical appearance is always wrong.

Not because it's cruel to them, but because it perpetuates the harmful idea that innate physical appearance has anything to do with one's character / beliefs / actions.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
I literally spent about 10 minutes in the DFW airport and that was more than enough for me thanks
First part of trip is done, on the plane from Dallas to Albuquerque. Personally witnessed my bag being put in the plane.
Very true! I just have to get through security first....
Off to the airport I go. It's cold and early and I do not have enough caffeine in me.
The cats know something is up. Miles is even clingier than usual, and I'm pretty sure the hairball Val horked up in front of the front door is an attempt at blocking me in.
Up too early, but that's better than too late I guess

I think one of the saddest things about being a millennial is remembering a time when technology was advancing in a way that made life better and easier and more exciting instead of actively, intentionally worse
12 and a half hours or so til takeoff. Pretty sure everything is packed except my morning meds. Nothing to do now but sleep til morning.

No Kings except them Hawaiian rolls
No kings except king sized candy bars.
Last "normal" day for now. Tomorrow I pack and prepare. Sunday I get up far too early for my liking and catch a flight.
Exactly! Not having kids was the right decision for me, but who am I to tell anyone else what to do with their own body, life, and personal autonomy?
Unless they are kept as barn cats in a working capacity, cats belong indoors. They're detrimental to local bird populations and they get lost, hurt, and killed so easily. Give them enrichment indoors or supervised outdoor time (like on a leash) and they'll live far better lives.

I am childfree by choice and the internet antinatalists are batshit imo. They infiltrate those spaces often and I find them cringy at absolute best.
Maury kept my spot warm for me while I got ready for bed. I'm gonna miss this little shit while I'm away.
The other thing is Homestuck. I'm rereading Homestuck.

Because I hate myself, and because I never finished it in the first place.
For the ultimate bizzarro reading experience, I have two things I will be reading on this trip.

ACOTAR: Recommended by @squigglyelf.bsky.social. I'm not sure how I feel about booktok-beloved novels, but she swears this one doesn't suck and I trust her.
Hey yeah can you bring me uuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh

A mask

Because I wear no mask
Did a little bit of packing tonight. Just a few things. This is really happening isn't it? A trip back home. Given my financial situation I honestly thought I'd be waiting a whole lot longer.
Me getting tackled by my cat as he comes around the corner to bite my ankles
I like cool damp fall weather but with a visit to the desert looming, all I can think about is mild sunshine.
